Online Scams to Avoid

Have you ever wanted to know which online scams to avoid? I know I have seen a lot of them and been scammed by a few of them also. In one of my earlier articles I talked about one of the biggest scams that I ran into when I first got introduced to internet marketing.

It was one of these free get rich quick seminars and one thing that I did notice about the people that got invited to the one I was in is that they were mostly older couples and individuals that were either retired or getting close to retiring. Now That I have been doing this for awhile I do understand why we were picked to attend something that we were not too familiar with that is the computer and the wide open internet. Not to mention retirees have money that they have been saving for along time and would love to find away to make some more with what they have now. The older generation was not educated enough about computers and the internet to know about which online scams to avoid.

I read an article recently about an online scam to avoid is that if you are selling something that you own on line say for $100 and someone offers to buy it from you and when you get the check it is made out for $1000 instead. Then they will contact you to let you know they had made a mistake on the check and if you could just go ahead and deposit it and send them the merchandise and the difference back to them that way they do not miss out on your sell to them and you still get your money. Now wait a minute you better take a very good look at there check first to see if there are any problems with it like routing numbers and bank accounts cause it is one of these online scams to avoid.

I just thought I would pass this along I know we are talking about internet marketing scams but I just could not avoid letting you know about this type of scam going on also.

Another online scam to avoid is the ever growing survey scams they promise you that you can make lots of money online buy just sitting back and doing there surveys. This is not true most of them just offer you credits that turn into dollars and I mean just a few dollars for a lot of surveys so to me this is a lot of wasted time for a few dollars that they get you to use on other things.

Got to get some sleep now but I will be back soon and just remember to watch out for online scams to avoid like I do now.

Good article, Tommy. It is too bad that seniors are taken advantage of. We need to be diligent in giving them reviews that are honest and expose the truth so they can keep their money.

I had my own experience with scammers. The bulk of their trade is to capitalize on an individual dream of getting rich with little effort. I always believe no one will give you secrets to wealth and expect you to pay for it. If I already have a 'millions dollar formular' why ask the next individual to pay a 'token fee' for it? I will simple make more millions and probably give the information for free since I am already 'made'. My opinion!

There are some genuine online surveys but the pay is so poor it is hardly worth the time. Thanks for the tips Tommy.

Thanks Tommy. Those are classic scams. The surveys have another trick. When you take the survey in good faith, and answer all their questions, oftentimes you'll get a pop up that says you're not qualified for that particular survey, but try another one. I tested it. You finally do get approved, but what a colossal waste of time!
