So. You are one of the many folks that have worked towards a comfortable life in retirement. Yet you find yourself in the position of not being able to retire on what you thought you would have.
You are not alone. Many of us have what should be sufficient funds but find that we cannot get the return on those funds to provide a comfortable living.
The question is what do we do now. One answer is to keep working and in some cases that is possible. In other cases we have been downsized out of a job or just can’t physically do the job any more.
The prospect of punching a clock for another ten years is just not an attractive one. Fortunately there are some alternatives. The internet provides an enormous audience that is eager for products, information, training and guidance. Most of us have heard of the ripoffs. People saying they have the answer or how to make a million dollars a year. These people are certainly out there but there are also reliable, trustworthy people and companys out there.
About a year ago I decided to write a blog about my experiences fishing the Lake Erie Islands. This quickly turned into a blog that reported daily marine weather forecasts and daily fishing reports. In the process of learning about the blogosphere I realized there was money to be made if I was willing to get the training necessary.
I decided to expand my presence on the Social media networks and to build a website that would incorporate my blog plus allow me to do affiliate marketing. I hired a local social media guru to help me set up my Facebook fan page and Twitter accounts. I hired another internet marketing professional to help me set up the website. The cost to do this was modest.
The guy I hired to help with the website told me if I wanted to do the internet marketing right I would need to get some in depth training. He recommended a company that has a great reputation in all phases of internet marketing. I have been a member for the last four months and I have learned a great deal in that time. The cost for this training is also very modest.
This is like any other job in that it takes a time commitment and the desire to follow through. The great thing about it is you can do it from home or away from home at your winter place. All you need is your computer and an internet connection.
I would suggest you check out the training first to see if you like internet marketing. If you do then you can expand your horizons to social media and websites. My blogging experience has worked out well for me and I’m sure you can do the same.
