Traffic Generation: Pay for Traffic Model

It is entertaining to listen to webmasters discuss traffic patterns on websites, strategies to grow this traffic, and overall a dislike for major search engines. The discussion is often lively, opinionated, and a little bit secretive because no one wants their best tools given to a close competitor. Webmasters are smart and do well with their trade. Often, a business can benefit from hiring a marketing firm that is out-of-the-box, like a lead generation marketing firm.

Lead generation is a skill to itself. The step that comes with lead generation is traffic generation. The number of unique visitors to your website is an important indicator of how well business is doing and the probability of upcoming trends. Analysis of web traffic will show a business what people are searching for and if the websites run by the business are found relevant. This data is critical for knowing what the customer is doing relative to the business.

Often, the business has found that the number of unique visitors is consistent to almost constant. Efforts to increase the number of visitors do not change anything. Conversions are consistent, but no increase in cash flow is seen at any level. At this point, a business will look for alternatives to search engine optimization and pay per click options.

Search engine optimization is standard practice. Webmasters understand this is important for a site to achieve search rank for the terms important to the business. Many webmasters are good at this, but will get caught in the trap of being a programmer before a marketer. A marketer’s mind can bring an optimized campaign to the business that increases traffic and sales.

If a company is stuck with constant numbers and no growth, the perspective of a marketing company that generates traffic to a website can be very valuable. Often these companies understand human behavior online, what makes them click, how to get more traffic to a site without changing the site itself, and not compromise the SEO work in place.

In short, due to the competition online in search and pay per click ads, alternatives have begun to surface that allows a company to attract high-quality traffic from organic results, and inexpensive results from methods of prospecting that advertising firms bypass or discount. After a great website design and webmaster operations, a lot of money has been spent. With the pay for traffic model, often no money is exchanged upfront for the performance of the marketing firm. This makes marketing your company efficient, inexpensive, and less dependent on the mercy of search engines and their algorithms.
