If you're looking for ways to earn some extra money or create a real business on the weekends, I've got some great weekend business ideas to share with you. Some of the techniques will allow you to earn money immediately, whereas other may not pay as much upfront, but turn out to be much more profitable in the long run.
When deciding on what kind of business that is right for you, there's only one thing to keep in mind. You should pick something that you're really passionate about. One of the benefits of creating a business online is that you're able to work with the things that you love doing.
Do You Enjoy Writing?
There are literally 1000's of Internet marketers who are looking for people willing to write 400-500 word articles for $3-$15 each. You're not gonna make a ton of money, but if you find the right jobs you can make a decent income simply by writing. Google for Odesk or Elance to find writing jobs.
Sell Cool T-Shirts
Thanks to companies like Zazzle and Cafepress (search at Google to find them), you can get paid by getting people to their website and buying a shirt. They've got all the designs you can possibly imagine... funny, mean, nerdy, cute, political etc., and if there's something you're looking for that you cant find - you can always design a shirt yourself and sell it. If you're socially engaged in places like Facebook, Twitter, forums and blogs, you'll have the opportunity to earn lots of commissions, simply by linking to cool shirts.
Creating Your Own Website!
This is by far the best option, if you are willing to invest some time and work hard. Creating a website doesn't require you to know any HTML or webdesign anymore, with the help of tools such as Wordpress Express (a tool at Wealthy Affiliate) you can create a nice looking website in just about 30 seconds.
There are unlimited opportunities to earn money with your website, for example, you can create a website with your own affiliate links, where you review computer speaker systems (or any other product you wanna write about). The first thing you wanna do it find a relevant domain name, for example "ComputerSpeakerSystemReviews" .com/.org. Every time somebody visits your site to find information about something, and ends up buying it - you earn a commission.
Create the basic framework of your website, the about page, privacy policy page, home page and blog, then write some reviews of popular computer speaker systems, write blog posts where you compare speaker systems with each other and rank them, and so on... you get the idea.
Essentially, your goal is to find out what people are searching for in the search engines (keywords), and then write blog posts, create pages and write articles that are optimized to relevant keywords, and then ranking in the search engines and getting targeted traffic.
Creating a successful business online requires you to learn some skills and understanding the basic elements of Internet marketing. Once you have mastered this, you'll be setting the limits for your success yourself.

Love your article, very clear and specific. What would be your best suggestion if I do wholesale clothing but need more marketing thanks
Hey, if you've got lots of friends on FB or Twitter, I'd simply post a picture of a cool t-shirt (With your affiliate link of course), and try to find cool & unique designs, and this alone might result in some sales. Even better, if you can find targeted groups of people, for example a group on Facebook called "Save the Rainforest", and find a design (Or create one yourself), that people in that group are likely to go nuts over.
excellent article Tim, you have some great ideas in there, especially for those who need a little boost to get started, I personally write articles to earn some extra cash myself.
There are many out there Tim. Lots of people use Fiverr, but there are others such as WA jobs (at Wealthy Affiliate), scriptlance, elance, freelancer...an abundance. Maybe Ty can chime in with the ones he uses, but those are places that we have utilized to outsource int he past.
