You Must Have A Unique Value Proposition To Succeed

One of the most important elements of any business - be it a corporation or individual - is its Value Proposition. It doesn't matter whether it’s a Fortune 500 company, mom and pop neighborhood store, or website. How it fits into the landscape of where it operates is a major determinant of how successful it can be. If the business can create and maintain a unique sense of value then it will be well on its way to a successful future.

Big companies and smaller ones who understand the importance of it spend tens of millions of dollars per year trying to distinguish themselves with a unique value proposition. It is almost as important as a respected brand. The field for uniqueness is crowded. Everyone tries to lay claim to certain things. But, only those who can consistently deliver what they promise for the best value like no one else can do are able to claim having a unique value proposition.

What Is A Value Proposition?

Value propositions originally began to take shape around the 1940s and 1950s, as a position a company took that allowed them to standout from their competitors and even make the customers of said competitors switch to them. A value proposition is simply the offering of a clear, understandable, and tangible reason for someone to choose a business’ product or service over that of other competing products or services – clear and tangible can be actual, measurable reasons, or a benefit that the competitor does not offer.

What Difference Does It Make?

In the mid to late 1920s Ford Motor Company’s low price value proposition made them the largest U.S. car manufacturer. That ranking eventually gave way to General Motor’s style and luxury value proposition that allowed them to overtake Ford and the largest seller of cars. They both worked to find what the consumer wanted and staked their company’s growth on it.

What Does It Have To Do With Me?

So, what does that have to do with you, a single little internet marketer just trying to earn money online from home? More than you can imagine. There are tens of thousands of internet marketers - all trying to get the same person to “click” a button and follow them. So, why should they click your button and follow you? Great! I can see that the light bulb just came on in your head! That’s right; you need to convince them in a clear and understandable, convincing, and tangible way that what you offer is better than any other offer.

How Do I Get One?

How do you convey that value proposition? You do it by providing quality content with messages that connect with your visitors on your aesthetically pleasing website. Of course, everything doesn't have to be perfect, but it must be convincing. Only then will your visitors want to follow you. Your value proposition will always be unique because no one can be you, but you. Consequently, no one has your story but you. That uniqueness, along with the right traffic to your site, will propel you to your destination of success.
