Like any other language, Urdu also has its literature, which is rich with all kinds of thoughts and ideologies. In Urdu also, there are numerous genres of literature where one can find aesthetic appeal in different forms whether it’s the rhythm or lyre or blankness of the prose sentences.
Similar to English literature that developed under the reign of French, Urdu literature also developed in the courts of Persian rulers. In 14th century when Persians ruled over Sub-continent, they promoted and backed literature and creativity of all sorts. It is in that era that Urdu came from the army camps into the courts and was encouraged by Persian rulers.

Therefore, there are numerous websites that contain Urdu poetry and a Urdu learner can easily access those websites and start reading the poetry of old as well as the contemporary Urdu poets. The benefit of reading Urdu poetry by this method is convenience as the learner just needs a computer and he or she can easily start reading Urdu poetry.
The third and advanced way of reading Urdu poetry is in the form of different mobile phone applications. There are numerous Urdu institutes that have developed different applications for different mobile platforms, the users of which can easily install the applications on their phone and start reading Urdu poetry from there. The prime benefit of reading Urdu poetry via this method is mobility. Now a reader can easily read poetry on the go whether it is on way to office or while sitting in bed.
