German audio programs are making it possible to learn German while on the go. Today’s life moves at a very hectic pace. We are so busy with our jobs, taking care of our homes, our health and our families that it is difficult to squeeze that little bit of extra time needed for learning a new language. We can never seem to find the time even though it may be something that we have always wanted to do. It is funny how we put these things that we always wanted to do off with the claim that we are just too busy. Before you know it, life passes us by and we never did get that chance. There are really no excuses. Audio German programs make it simple and easy to finally learn to speak German while on the go!
What to look for – When looking for a German audio program, first of all we need to find a program that is going to hold our interest. If it doesn’t, you are not going to use it. Learning must appear to be almost automatic. If the student has to stop the tape and create lists of vocabulary words or write down grammar rules to memorize, it is not an audio program that allows the student to learn German on the go.
A great audio language program creates memorization and recognition simply by listening and responding to what is being heard. Learning vocabulary is a no brainer. Grammar is absorbed by hearing and learning to recognize what sounds correct. If you were learning English and you heard phases like, “I am eating an apple” or “I am going to the store” or “ I am sick,” in time, you would recognize that “I eating an apple” and” I going to store” and “I sick” doesn’t sound right. It’s all about sound, that is why they call it audio.
How to utilize it – Once we have found a program to use, we have to learn how to utilize it to its full potential in order to really benefit from learning on the go with audio. First off, one must be patient and not expect fluency overnight. Work each lesson slowly and methodically and at the end of each lesson, rate your performance. Chances are you will need to repeat the lesson. If you think your performance does not require a repeat, guess again. It most certainly does. These lessons should be repeated over and over until you don’t need to think to respond and your sentences are spoken fluently without even the slightest pause in mid- sentence. Pausing in mid- sentence to think is a common habit for many beginning language students.
Which program is the best for German audio programs – German audio programs make it possible to learn on the go if we choose the right one. Most programs are not true audio programs. They simply have audio supplements that are there to provide reinforcement of the content found either in their books, software or online course. These are good programs but they provide reinforcement on the go, not learning on the go.
There is a system where the student actually learns 100% of the material through an audio program. The Pimsleur Language programs have a 30 year history of success in doing this. The Pimsleur program is based on the idea that if the student knows what sounds right, everything else is easy. This German audio program is easy to use and makes learning on the go fun and rewarding. It has been recommended by the New York Times, Forbes Magazine, PBS and is used by the FBI. It is a stimulating, interactive program where the student must constantly respond to questions and statements posed to him by the host as well as native German speakers. The student learns to speak without an accent and to think in the language being learned. This program is thought by many, to be the best language program available today. Learning German is automatic with the Pimsleur audio approach.
