By speaking a foreign language we learn to see the people and the foreign culture with different eyes, the way we perceive others changes, it makes us more tolerant of other cultures and perhaps the opinions and outlooks of others. Couldn't we do with a bit more tolerance in our society?

Even if we read about a country, the culture and the people, unless we communicate with the people in their own language can we really appreciate and understand their way of living. When we Speak a foreign language people will show respect for our efforts, however little we speak.
As a tourist in a foreign country we have to rely on tour operators to inform us about interesting places to visit, but being able to communicate with the local people in that country we get to see places that would normally only be frequented by locals. It is far easier to get a few insider tips about good restaurants, places to shop, visit etc. Places perhaps less frequented by other tourists.

By 2050, according to the Census Bureau in the U.S., Hispanics will make up 30% of the total population, this is by far the fastest growth of any population group. These statistics will have an enormous impact on many sectors in the country.
From a economic point of view companies that cater to the needs of this population segment can secure a substantial portion of a market. There is no doubt that cultural differences will trigger other demands, which regular businesses might otherwise not cater for.
Needless to say that this development will increase the opportunities for people with the knowledge of the Spanish language.
There are many ways to learn to talk Spanish. Depending on your lifestyle and the time at your disposal you could learn Spanish at a Spanish language school or make use of a multitude of opportunities that Spanish online classes offer.
