Leaders that Break the Rules by Following

Following the rules is expected from those who are following, except for the leaders; they make their own rules and leadership is dictated by the rules of those who follow. This opening statement may appear contradictory but bear with me and it will make absolute sense.

A leader cannot lead with out followers; it is because you are being followed that defines the fact that you are a leader. One can compare it to a king who has no subjects, without his subjects, what is he a king of? A supporter has needs and the leader attempts to fill those needs, therefore it is the needs of those who look to their leader that dictate what the provider gives. Notice that I used the word supporter, without perpetuation from those who take a giver cannot give; followers support the leader who is a giver. The leader fulfills the needs of those who are the foundation that he stands upon and at the same time the leader is supporting the needs of the followers. It is a perfect circle of mutual support.

What separates the followers from the leaders is originality. A successful leader breaks the mold and moves beyond boundaries by crafting what no one has thought of, making what is already available better or promoting what has been around for ages in a way that shows a product or service in a light that is unique and fresh.

It is said that you cannot reinvent the wheel, this is true, but look how many different brands and types of wheels there are on the market!

Investigation and experimentation are a large element of the tools of any success story. When a mutual support body has a principal person who places himself above the ones he is dependent upon and providing for, he will eventually weaken his support base by fooling himself into thinking that he has no need for those who follow.

To follow the lead of the followers is to provide for them. Listening to what is wanted or not wanted and investigating what is needed among those who are needful is what distinguishes a leader.

The internet is a great place to do this, but it is not the only place, it is just the most convenient because there is more information then we can use moving faster then a finger tap on the key board. It is within the internet that many are making up their own rules and it seems as if there are leaders aplenty as well as followers being drawn into the promises.

To avoid being led astray; break the rules and be a wise follower so you may develop into a real leader.
