Build your list! Everyone says it. But how do you get visitors to your website so you can build your list?
In olden days, you could put on a kettle of water and have people sit for a cup of tea. Now, you must catch attention and give some reason to take action right then.
That is, you need to make a specific call for action. The equivalent of, "Would you like a cup of tea?" of old.
Here are two ways to catch attention and give a call to action:
(1) Pay for visitors.
(2) Work to attract visitors
But there is something far more critical about visitors to build your list than how to get visitors to your website.
Random visitors won’t have something in common with each other -- or with you. That’s why random visitors will not help you build your list in a way that helps you achieve anything significant. Random visitors simply don’t meet your qualifications for someone you really want on your list.
In fact, if you build your list with people who don’t have something in common with you and with each other, you will fail. Oh, you may get revenue and you may even develop a somewhat or sometimes profitable business. But you will have people on your list who distract you from what you do best and you will fail.
Why?
I’ll tell you why:
(1) You’ll never maximize your potential by building an unqualified list.
(2) Time and energy interacting with people who don’t particularly want you is time wasted.
(3) People who don’t want you still have problems and have many demands.
(4) Unsatisfied people with problems you don’t solve drain your energy.
(5) You won’t have enough time and energy to devote to solving pressing problems for people who do need and want what you do best.
(6) You won’t have the full energy and sparkle of yourself to add your personal touches.
(7) You won’t attract the people you can help best in the world because they won’t see you doing it.
You do fit somewhere! You solve problems in many places, yes. But you provide the best solution in the world for people with pressing problems you solve well, problems that you pour your whole self into solving with your own special touches.
Do you know what happens when you let yourself focus on what you are best at?
I'll tell you what happens:
(1) People who have pressing problems you solve best in the world? You, and your solution with your own personal touches! Those best fit people recognize you, appreciate you, refer others to you, and buy repeatedly from you.
(2) You continue to get better.
(3) You get more profitable.
(4) You bring a joy and delight to your work.
(5) Your attitude and sparkle draws people to you. People you can help better than anyone else in the world seek you out!
The first and most critical part of how to get visitors to your website so you can build your list is to identify who qualifies to be on your list.
Focusing on people who have pressing problems you solve best in the world is the key to your success. Focusing enables you to build your list with people who tend to have the kinds of pressing problems you can solve for them better than anyone else in the world.
