Lead Generation- What Are some Tactics to Use for Increased Leads In Your Online Business?

I think this is a great question, and one that deserves some investment of time and effort. Essentially, when we look at the possibilities available to us, we can consider the following broad areas for lead generation:

We Can Use pay per click advertising We can use article marketing We can use squeeze pages with opt in forms We can use traditional media advertising like radio and TV

I am certain there are other possibilities too, but will primarily concentrate on the use of squeeze pages and opt in forms. After all, we are talking about an online business. Now, I can tell you that no business will survive long without leads. Hence, we need to ensure a steady stream of leads.

One method to adopt includes a squeeze page which is designed to grab a prospect's attention by stating the benefits of the product or service you are offering. In addition, you are also hopefully able to entice them to leave at least their name and email address in return for an ethical bribe. I use this term deliberately as we all know that we want to give the prospect something for their details. After all, it would be a marketer's dream to just be able to get names and emails for nothing in return. In the real world, we need to offer something good, given that people are increasingly wanting to eliminate the clutter in their lives, in terms of intrusive advertising and emails.

Hence, we need to be up-front, giving, and above all, provide the best value possible. This way, our prospects will come to actually welcome our emails. Let em explain:

A bad marketing effort would involve sending an email out to your prospect daily saying your product is really good and they should buy it now,as the price is going up tomorrow. Then, the next day, they should be told the same thing again, and reminded they should buy now! I think you can see this is heading to an unsubscribe request very quickly, and not much in business return for you.

Now consider the opposite scenario. Your email is informative, and provides information of value in the respective niche you are in. You may provide some hints, tips and solutions to common problems. Them after sending an email or two out, you may suggest they look at product XYZ as it may be complimentary to their needs. Be fairly low key and genuine about it. Then, send out a few more emails, and after another two, maybe include a product, in a soft sell way.

Can you see the difference here? One way is just arrogant, whilst the other is about building a marketing relationship. People have feelings and want to be treated with respect, and not just as sources of money for you. Your returns will multiply many times over in this way.

For this reason, list building should be done with genuine care, in that you want to encourage subscribers but also give genuinely from your heart. I also find that by writing numerous articles and populating blogs daily with unique content, I am seeing the results I desire and know you can too. You need to give it time and effort. The results will follow.
