When it comes to list building in business, some people are very narrow in the way they think they can go about it. In other words, I am suggesting we need to become more creative in our efforts to get our products and landing pages out to the public at large. As a quick revision, a landing page is a page where you may have a money product. That is a product that you are selling for a set amount of income. A squeeze page is a capture page only, with the option of a visitor filling in their name and email address to sign up to your list, to receive a free gift. Naturally, as a good marketer, instead of telling them directly they are signing up to a list, you are simply suggesting and telling the truth, that they will receive the item, gift or services as you have indicated.
Having clarified that, one way of increasing your list is to utilize products already in your inventory. To explain this better, imagine a product that is on the subject of health and fitness. You would naturally ensure that you have lots f relevant information on health and fitness, as well as possibly including a link, or even coupen style advertisemt that happens to have a linkback to a product you are promoting. That is ok, when you have a general dicousre that you are promoting some products that are of a value and completely related to the niche you ar writing about.
In any other sense, it will be seen for what it is, being a cheap attempt at advertising. On the other hand, in a digitally presented course, either on a website page or electronic book, in a relevant context, I believe it to be OK to practice this method. From the point of view of the user, the experience is increased in that they are being directed to complimentary resources.
As another side note, I highly recommend you are always producing your own products. I say this from the point of view that you have a greater degree of control, and won't find that overnight, all your hard work promoting a program is for naught when the merchant decides to take it off the market or similar actions that you are unable to control. In addition, you have the control and ability to then include further links back to various resources and list building efforts that you control and provide, thus allowing you to increase the size of your list.
There is no short cut- list building takes time and effort, but the results are worth the effort put in. In addition, learning and researching marketing techniques wil provide a greater ability to tackle new trends as well.
Good points. True! List building does take effort over time. Researching and learning marketing techniques helps:-)
