Any business owner will be keen to make sure that he or she is able to not only get their message out there to as many people as possible, but to also ensure that they are able to answer as many of their client’s questions as possible, in their niche. I am relatively certain that as you have searched for information on list building, that you are in a similar boat. After all, the value of a business in terms of long term ongoing income is in the relationship it has with the people on its list. Put another way, your subscribers who have trusted you with their details in terms of their name and email data are a valuable asset, to be cherished and looked after. It is reasonable to expect that you want to get the word out that you are in business, and can help people demanding that which you have. There are a number of ways to go about this, which include, but are not limited to
- article marketing
- advertising
- using pay per click advertising
- in off line media
- organising joint venture swaps
- creating special launches
to name just a few.
However, my favourite is article marketing. For a start, I enjoy writing and have found that for those who enjoy reading, it is a perfect match. Being naturally interested in my niche allows my natural information to flow onto the page. Also, the most important benefit is that in search engine terms, it is often articles that turn up first in the results when searched for online, given the typically high page rank of article directories. This is not a hard and fast rule, but one you can certainly be relatively confident in, After all, unless your site is a powerhouse in page rank, you will probably find that the back linking from your articles, built up over time, will be more valuable to your site and ability to be found when people are searching for your service or product.
One caveat I would like to put in place is that this process is a natural evolution, and whilst you can be lucky to get an article picked up by a magazine with a massive readership, it may take a little longer to see the results you crave. However, remember once an article is online, it is there for life, or at least the life of the article directory. All going well, this is an ongoing arrangement and will improve your value to the search engines over time. I have found that by writing regularly, websites are able to be found more often, and of course, you can make a point of directing visitors either to a squeeze page only, or to a generic page on your site. However, I recommend you always have an option for a visitor to sign up, as that way, you can capitalise on that visit to your site.
I have learned list marketing skills from other successful people who have demonstrated success in name collecting as well as creating vaults of marketing knowledge. At the end of the day, learning to build a list is vital for your long term business growth, as a flow of clients is what will help your revenues to remain and grow.
What a great article! This will remind me why I write. Thank you!
