A New Employee Orientation Process

It is a well-known fact that every company in the world hires and fires people quite often. Moreover, it can happen very often depending on the company policy and its success, the economic situation in the country and in the world.

Every single HR manager knows that the process of hiring a new person for the existing vacancy is not a piece of cake. This process is usually long and effort -consuming. But, it is a well-known fact that to hire a person is only part of the problem, the second part is to help a person to adapt themselves easily in the new surroundings and atmosphere.

Every HR manager has a certain procedure plan to simplify the whole process of adaptation. Here are the basic points to bear in mind.

As soon as a new worker arrives, an HR specialist has to introduce them to the staff and to offer an introductory tour of the area i.e. the working place, the office premises, the place where the required equipment is situated and so on. Thus, you will avoid any potential problems in the future linked to poor organization.

The next step is to discuss the work schedule – the working hours, lunch breaks, and holidays and so on. An HR manager has to tell everything about all the document procedures in the company connected with the work i.e. filling a time sheet, preparing the reports and etc.

Then, they need to review the job responsibilities and the targets in the post and what is required from the person in this position. If it is necessary, an HR manager gives all the possible assistance or chooses a person who is able to give any help for a newcomer.

Every company has an individual development plan, and when a fresher comes to the company, they are introduced to it, in order to be aware of the coming perspectives and to realize the future training schemes.

These are the basic steps to adapt a new person in the company, but there are also lots of minor but very important moments which are carried by an HR manager.

At the same time an HR specialist is responsible for every new comer in the firm and two or three people usually join the company simultaneously and the amount of work that an HR manager does doubles or even triples.

It is very hard for one person to organize and to remember every single step to perform. That is why many HR managers try to do their best to simplify the whole process. Many companies set up special management software, which is to ease every stage of the adaptation period. Such software is called HR management software . The Internet is full of all types of demo versions of such products. They are designed to help a HR manager in every possible way.
