Direct Marketing is the most powerful form of advertisement, just by telling a few people about a certain event you can have a massive amount of people show up. For instance let's say Joe Disco wants to throw a party in celerbration of his parents going on vacation. Now I know you already see where this is headed because direct marketing is such a simple concept, but we'll let this example play out for a full illustrasion. Anyway so what does JD do to get the word out? You got it...get the word out. He picks up a phone and call a few friends and those friends tell other friends and so on and so on. By the time of the party Joe has a full house that's now getting trashed. That is just the chip off the ice burg of what direct marketing can do for you.
With direct marketing you can strike up a conversation with any one you choose and build rapport in seconds by using a technique I call the S.E.E. factor.
Smile, Eye Contact, & Enthusiasm. Let's take a closer look at these three...
Smile = Comfort: Smiles are contagious, when you smile at someone it immedately let's them know you're a friend and you mean them no harm and in return that person responds back with a smlie and they drop thier guard just a tad. So don't be afraid to smile people like smiles. As test walk down the street one day and smile at the random people that pass you by to see what type of response you get.
Eye Contact = Trust: This should be self explanatory so I'll keep it short and simple..... PEOPLE DON'T TRUST OTHER PEOPLE WHO CAN'T LOOK THEM IN THE EYES!!! I think we all agree that there's something sneacky about a person who wont look you in the eyes. Eye contact is important.
Enthusiasm = Curiousity: Have you ever ran into a person that was excited and you wondered why? Well you can raise that same question in people by showing enthusiasm. We as humans are attracted to what's exciting because it's a feel good emotion and we link our lives to either one of two things, Pleasure and Pain... Pleasure ( Yaaaaaaa ) Pain ( Booooo ). We're attracted to positive emotions and repelled by the negative ones. So show some enthusiasm when approaching a person.
Now here's where we take what we've learned and put it all together, this is what we end up with at the moment we approach someone: A smile with eye contact and a happy " HELLO!! " and just that quick we have now established enough rapport with a person to strike up any conversation we choose.
So there you have it folks. A birds eye view at the power of direct marketing. If you would like to know more on direct marketing tips and tricks visit my website.
