Have you been Girlfriend and Boyfriend for too long? Really wondering how can I get him to propose? Try these six steps!
>>>> 1]. Casually talk about the matter of marriage. You can bring up someone else that has just got married or was newly engaged recently. Don't have a serious chat until you have at least nonchalantly [and in a cheerful style] talked about the issue in general. An acceptable process to get the ball rolling is to display some confusion about your relationship, and even some moderate criticism.
>>>> 2]. The second step, which is very helpful in finding the answer to "How can I get him to propose?" is to ease him into some questions about where your future jointly is going. If he is not responsive to your indirect approach, begin slowly adding some more direct lines like, my two favorite ones are "if we stick together," and "if we live together." Keep an eye on how he reacts.
Remember that while marriage has been on your agenda for a while, this may come as a surprise to him. Do not anticipate that he will have an answer or want to talk further about this matter right now.
>>>> 3]. Try to find out what his thoughts on marriage are. Many guys are very unconcerned about the whole marriage concept and they're OK with getting married, but they're also OK with not having to get married. Does this describe your Boyfriend? He probably is not as eager about walking down the aisle as you are. You will need to nudge him harder to have that dream wedding.
>>>> 4]. Make a rational debate as to why you should get married. Appeal to his logical side. Talk about some of the benefits of being married such as the savings in health and dental if either of you has a plan. There are also advantages that come in government benefits and certainly some income tax benefits and savings.
>>>> 5]. Don't keep talking about the issue. You have probably talked to him many times about wanting to get married, let it go for now. The more you bring it up, the less he hears it.
>>>> 6]. This last step to take to get him to propose is sometimes very helpful. Ask your friends and family to stop hinting about marriage to him. You might believe their being helpful by nonchalantly hinting to him, but it will feel like everyone is ganging up on him. He needs to come to this decision by himself. Another important question to ask yourself is what makes a man want to marry a woman?
Think it's time for me to propose now, to think of the reality of it....................must be quite nerve racking.
Interesting. Did not realize women are more interested in marriage than men. In earlier years a number of proposals were so totally unexpected - well, maybe one clue is to date more than one person at a time and do stuff on your own? Though I certainly picked the wrong choices for marriage so not sure any of my ideas will ever make sense:-)
May I add one... 7/. Ask him to marry you... ask if you can ask his parents permission... he might just drop to his knee...
