How To Nurture Our Love - Finding Out How To Do This Is One Of The Keys To Learning How To Work On A Relationship

How to nurture our love? Is that what I really want to know? After all, I am just interested in learning how to work on a relationship.

Many people do want to know how to work on a relationship. Married couples, especially, have to figure out how to work on a relationship because the members of the couples have made long-term (lifetime) commitments to each other.

Once a relationship begins, it is in the baby stage. We all should know that babies need to be nurtured and loved. The same goes for relationships, so it really is important that we learn how to nurture our love when we get in a marriage relationship.

To nurture something means that we feed, support, and encourage it. It also means that we educate or train the thing being nurtured.

Therefore to to have a successful relationship, we have to be involved in its care and feeding.

We also can educate a relationship by educating each other on some of the principles for having a good relationship.

Here are some ways to nurture our love:

1. Leave the past behind. That includes past relationships and any past baggage that we brought into the relationship. This is especially needed for the long-term commitment of marriage.

We will have to learn to forgive people from the past, including ourselves.

2. Feed your relationship by implementing actions that will strengthen the relationship. Sometimes this will mean that we men, who are usually a little clumsy in the romance department, can learn some ways to show love to our wives.

Sometimes this will mean that wives will, likewise, take steps to learn how to show respect to their husbands.

3. Nurture your love by overlooking many of your husband's or wife's mistakes. An ancient writer said that "Love covers a multitude of sins." That ought to be true in the case of our relationships. In other words, we need to "cut each other a little slack."

This overlooking of some faults does not mean that we overlook heinous crimes, nor does it mean that we will not confront our spouse when the occasion is really warranted. It simple means that we will not be picky, and that we do not "make mountains out of molehills."

These three ideas: leaving the past behind, implementing actions to strengthen our marriages, and overlooking some minor faults are three ways of learning how to nurture our love, and they are certainly ideas that show us how to work on relationships.

Do you need to get back together to begin nurturing your relationship? If you are together, and have been for quite some time, are you interested in more ideas that will show you how to work on a relationship? Read and study materials like these all you can, and you and your spouse will look back some day and say, "I'm glad we learned how to nurture our love in the early days of our marriage."
