Sorry guys, women just are not getting married as much as they used to. Believe it or not this is happening in many cultures all over the world. The one I found most interesting was in the Asia countries where family is an old and close tradition. An article in of all magazines, the October issue of "the Economist" explained how the marriage numbers in these countries are falling as less and less young women were marrying young or getting married at all. Now this makes sense to me, since Asian families have always taken care of their elderly family members. Since the economy in their countries have fallen as in ours women are working full time as well. So think of the burden of working full time, taking care of children, a husband , and a home. On top of that providing care for an elderly relative on top, that leaves not a moment for the woman to herself.
WOMEN ARE WAKING UP!
If you have a good education and a good job and can take care of yourself financially, why take on the burden of extra laundry, cleaning, sharing bedrooms, listening to footballs games all weekend on beautiful Fall afternoons. Car pooling the kids everywhere picking up everyone's clothes off the floors of bedrooms helping with homework as it has been proven at least half the men in this country still feel this is the woman's responsibility. Where is the time for yourself? I do not see the great deal in all of this. So all you young single ladies out there thing wisely about what you are giving up, Saturday morning, just lying around in your PJ's watching old movies, having only your own laundry to wash, taking a nap. Most men are not fixing cars today they are all electronic so they go into the dealers to be repaired anyway, someone is hired to mow your lawn. The peace and quiet, if you want company you can call a friend and go to a chick flick.
A LITTLE LOVE AND PASSION IS GOOD FOR THE BODY AND SOUL THEN GO HOME!
The roses, the promises they fade pretty quickly, the dirty shorts, they last forever trust me. Now I don't hate men at all the fun little creatures, what would we do without them? They can be cute and funny and who doesn't like a good night of wining and dining, passion and togetherness. A little nap after the glow of the evening and then honey it's time for you to go home so don't bring your toothbrush. I want to wake up to the sound of the birds not snoring. I want to wander around with no make-up on and have bowl of cereal not make anyone a big and hearty breakfast.
YES I AM MARRIED!
This is why I am trying to give you some good advise, if I could live alone just for a month I would be in heaven! Would I ever marry again, hell no! For once in my adult life I would love to just clean my space and it stays clean. Eat an apple for the day and be happy. No T.V. on for days just surrounded by my books a glass of wine and my fireplace roaring. Not having to talk to anyone if I don't feel like it, or to answer the door or telephone, complete bliss. I was brought up in the generation where that is what you did you got out of high school and got married had kids blah blah! Not that I don't love my family but enjoy your freedom while you can. Get to know yourself and lastly let him wash his own dirty shorts!
