The UFC is one of the biggest companies in the world today. The Ultimate Fighting Championship is an organization where fighters get into an octagon cage and try to win a fight by knockout, tap out, or a referee stoppage. In order to win a fight by one of these finishes, there are different techniques the fighters use.
The most effective technique UFC fighters use is striking. This is the technique that gets quick wins in the octagon by knockout. Strikers are fighters that prefer to stand and let their hands and feet do the talking. They are usually very good boxers or kickboxers as well. Fighters that usually rely on just striking are ones that have huge knockout power and can win a fight with a single punch.
Grappling is a technique fighters use to submit their opponent by getting them to tap out. They prefer techniques like an arm bar, guillotine, or kimura to get their wins in the octagon. Generally the fighters that use this technique are wrestlers. A lot of fighters that rely on this aren't very good strikers. They would like to get their opponent to the ground as quick as possible so they are more comfortable throughout the fight. Fighters that rely on just grappling tend to get knocked out often because their striking skills aren't as good as their opponents.
Another effective fighting technique is ground and pound. This is a technique that incorporates both striking and grappling. To be someone who is good at ground and pound, that person should be a good wrestler and striker. They should feel comfortable on the ground just as much as they do standing up and striking. Submissions aren't usually used with this technique because the main objective here is to take your opponent to the ground and strike or punch them until they are knocked out or the referee stops the fight. There are times where fighters do use ground and pound to set their submission up. They take their opponent down and beat them until they are weak. This gives them a better chance of finishing their submission.
These three techniques that fighters use in the UFC are the most effective ways to win a fight. There are many fighters in this organization that are perfectionists at these techniques and are very hard to beat because of it. People like Anderson Silva, Georges St-Pierre, and Forrest Griffin are masters of these techniques and they show it every time they enter the octagon.
