Kids Math Help - Make it Fun

If you have been searching for kids math help then read on, this article may be able to offer you a starting point. It is normal for people to struggle with the idea of maths - the same as it is normal for a lot of children to struggle with maths.

If you would of asked me when I was twelve what subjects I liked and what subjects I hated then maths would of been high on my blacklist. I could not connect my brain with the numbers on the page and if I'm honest it still happens at times these days. Some kids are no different and need the introduction of kids math help.

As a parent who want to help their children with maths there are certain things you should not do. For example, if you have always struggled with maths then don not admit it to your child - that's hardly likely to fill them with confidence and may even give them an excuse no to try. Another saying I ave heard all t often is 'don't worry to much about maths anyway - you'll never use it after you leave school'. Even if this is true in your mind why would you want your child to think this - ridiculous!

A kids math help technique I used with my son when he was younger was the 'measuring trick'. Most kids get a real buzz out of knowing they have grown a little and you can use this to your advantage. My son loves the idea that he could well be as tall as me one day ( I'm 6 ft 3" ). Whenever I measured him I would point out how tall he was on the tape measure or wall chart and then ask him 'what number comes next ( how tall will you be next )?'.

Cookery can also aid kids math help as it introduces children to measures of ingredients using measuring jugs, teaspoons, tablespoons, grams etc etc. Bathroom scales - another great way to introduce numbers and measurements to children. Scales offer great kids math help if you let them weigh small objects or toys ( obviously, try using digital scales - normal scales are no where near as much fun ).

If you walk around the home you will always find new and exciting ways to educate your children. Kids math help can be found in even the most sparse of home areas, always think outside the box and make sure the activities are fun.
