If any of you are interested in guided meditation I suggest you give it a try. It takes some of the work out of trying to get your mindset right, especially when you are just starting. It can be similar to taking a class on meditation except it's a lot cheaper! I'd like to highlight the benefits of using guided meditation, and why it will work for you. How do I know it works? Simple. I use it myself.
Guided meditation can take some of the stress out of starting your routine. When beginning you may feel overwhelmed at times, and not even know where to start, or what to focus on. However, it takes away some of this uneasiness, because you are told exactly what to do. it does not inhibit your freedom of choice, and it doesn't feel as if your are forced to do anything either. It merely soothes you into your meditation and keeps you going, even when you want to stop!
It can also put you into deeper levels of meditation without any added effort. Most guided meditations use a form of binaural beats, which tap into certain brain states by using specific sounds. These sounds, usually in the form of relaxing rain melodies, put you into deeper meditative states. One of those being the Delta brain state. This state is the same brain state of that our minds are in during dreamless sleep; being able to access this state when we are conscious allows us to tap into our unconscious mind, and be aware of it.
It's as if were able to look into our subconscious mind!
Another benefit of guided meditation is that it makes it easier to stick to a routine. Since, we now know it makes starting your routine easier, and allows your brain access to deeper levels it only makes sense that it would make it easier to stick to a routine. You simply just have to sit down, put on a pair of headphones and press play. The soothing sounds take you away, and you are transported to a level of deep meditation. There's not a lot of work to do on your part you just have to have faith that the guided meditation works, and believe me after a few sessions using this type of meditation you'll never want to go back!
Implementing audio meditation into your routine is very simple, and all it takes is a little research to find which program is right for you. Once you find one that intrigues you it's as simple as pressing play. Of course, you still have to breathe and make sure you have good posture, but it simply just makes meditation easier!
To those of use just starting this is such a blessing! Starting meditation can be daunting, but with the help of guided meditation it is no longer. You will no longer be intimidated by your routine, instead you will embrace it will open arms and an open mind, ecstatic about what you will find out or learn next.
