Overview of binaural beats?
In simple terms, binaural beats are specially engineered audio recordings which will have a slight effect on the listeners brain waves. By listening to binaural beats the listener can induce heightened states of consciousness (awareness).
Binaural beats have proven to be an effective tool for reaching deepened states of meditation. Using binaural beats for meditation can help you to reach the deepened states of meditation more quickly and effectively.
Reaching deepened states of meditation is actually a difficult process. Many who can induce these states at will have usually devoted many hours practicing the art of meditation.
That is why binaural beats have become a tool for meditation, as they can help the listener achieve heightened states of awareness more efficiently and quickly.
How do binaural beats work?
Essentially the sound recordings play two sound frequencies at the same time although independent of one another through each channel (left and right channels).
These frequencies will then be received by the listeners brain as independent sound frequencies. It's the distinction between the two sound frequencies which will results in the binaural beat being produced.
For binaural beats to work it's crucial that each frequency being relayed (played) independently is received independently by the brain! Basically the two independent sound frequencies cannot merge before reaching the listeners ear.
Therefore it's advisable to only wear a set of stereo headphones when using binaural beats for meditation to ensure each frequency is received independently and accurately.
Using Binaural Beats For Meditation
Meditation is in fact known to help individuals find peace of mind and balance yet will require a great deal of practice in order to get obvious results. That is why binaural beats are so beneficial thanks to the fact that they guide listeners through deep meditation sessions.
Another great thing about using binaural beats for meditation purposes is that they require no extra effort or long-lasting sessions of meditating in order to guide the listener in reaching these heightened states of consciousness. These are definitely a tool you can use as an extra to your usual meditating routine with out any extra effort what-so-ever.
If you plan to really benefit from binaural beats then it is always a good idea to listen to them for a reason similar to meditation. Just wearing a set of stereo headphones and playing these specifically created audio recordings will not have the proper, if any affect.
If you would like to get any positive affects as a result of using binaural beat sound tracks then they really should be put to use as a tool for practicing meditation. Well engineered binaural audio tracks can definitely benefit the listener in achieving heightened meditative states.
Omharmonics for example focuses on binaural beats as the core strategy for inducing deepened meditative states and heightened states of awareness.
I'm not new to binaural beats I have a city and guilds in sound engineering and learned them in college. That's a fresh perspective though and really interesting. I knew they affected brainwave activity but didn't know they were used for purposes such as meditating. I'm not a meditator but will try out binaural beats for relaxation purposes for sure.
