The top 3 beginner meditation tips are: Breathing, Patience, and Dedication.
Yes, I know how can three words be the top three tips?! Let me explain...
1. The first beginner meditation tips is breathing.
To highlight what I mean I want you to do this little exercise. Stop everything that you are doing, and sit up with a straight back wherever you are. Next, breathe in through your nose. Make sure to bring all of your attention to feelings associated with that breath. So, focus on how it feels entering your nose, make sure you take note of all the sensations.
Try to fully immerse yourself in the moment. Then, exhale through your nose. Keeping in mind the same thing that I stated above.
Continue like this for a couple minutes, or as long as you want! Keeping full attention on your breath.
This is the cornerstone of meditation!! Congrats on making it this far.
That's it for the first on our list of beginner meditation tips.
2. The second beginner meditation tips is Patience.
Yes, it may take a while to figure out your breath. Or even to focus on your breath, while your mind goes in a million different directions. But, it will happen eventually. Think of it as putting the pieces of a puzzle together, slow but worth it in the end.
The mere act of trying to draw your attention to your breath will help make your life better!
How? It's simple really it will teach you patience, and understanding with other people. Meditation will help you cultivate skills that will crossover to your everyday waking life.
After sitting for an hour trying to keep your focus on your breath, life seems to be a little bit more beautiful and less hectic for the remainder of the day.
So, remember patience is your friend, not only on meditation but in life as well.
Patience, a key in life and meditation is the second beginner meditation tips.
3. The third beginner meditation tips is Dedication.
The thing about meditation is that it isn't enough to do it just once a week, or once a month. It's really something you have to dedicate yourself to if you really want to feel and see the results.
Try making it a practice that you do everyday, such as brushing your teeth or maybe showering.
It helps to think of meditation as cleansing for your mind; you might work out everyday for your body, and keep it clean through brushing your teeth, and cleaning your body. But you need to take care of your mind as well. This comes through meditating.
Just 20 minutes a day is all it takes. Imagine the profound changes in life that will take place with just 20 minutes of dedication each and every day.
Dedicating a little time everyday to sit and meditate is the third and last beginner meditation tips.
