A big struggle a lot of people go through when they are first starting to meditate, is when to do meditation? I'd like to go over a couple words of wisdom regarding the best times of day to meditate, and why some times are better than others.
1. When do to meditation: Everyday!
This might be a pretty straightforward answer, but when to do meditation, the answer is everyday. Just 20 minutes a day is all that you need. The thing about meditation is that in order to get the full range of benefits you have to commit to doing it every single day, or almost every day. It doesn't do much good to meditation an hour a day, once a week. It would be better for you to just meditate 15-20 minutes a day for an entire week! The more often your exposed to the mind state's that meditation induces the better. When to do meditation, everyday. I guarantee once you start a habit like this you'll never want to stop.

2. When to do meditation: A steady time everyday!
Sometimes, it's hard to wake up early and meditate everyday before you start your day. At times it can seem to be almost impossible. Especially of your not a morning person. But I can guarantee you'll feel better meditating for a half hour, than getting that extra half hour of sleep.
Don't believe me? Just try it!
But if the morning just doesn't work for you. Pick any other time that you can commit to each and everyday. Whether that's during your lunch break at work, or maybe it's just before bedtime. Whenever it is, just commit. So, the answer to when to do meditation is as easy as whenever you want. Just make sure it's the same time everyday, because it's easier to commit that way!
3. When to do meditation: When your very stressed, or think you don't have time!
One of the most important times to meditate however, is exactly when you think you don't have time to do it.
What! That doesn't make any sense?
Hold on, just hear me out. When you are the most stressed out during the day you obviously aren't preforming at your top level. If instead you take a break from these feelings of stress and anxiety and instead try to cultivate mindfulness during this time. It will be hard to not come out ahead. So, when to do meditation. The answer is when you don't want to or don't think you have time.
Being mindful during these stressful situations will allow you to diminish the stress, because you will realize the very stressors in your situation can be interpreted in a variety of different ways!
