Okay, I know that women and men lie about what they have eaten, because the proof is in the pudding, so to speak. So don't lie about your food intake, because if you are going to lose weight, then you are going to have to be honest with yourself and think about where, you might be sabotaging your efforts to lose weight.
I hear people all the time, say I can't understand why I've not lost weight, I've hardly eaten a thing.. It's almost like your mind is making you tell lies and you have no control over what it says. You have become a secret eater, and you now actually believe that all the food, you absently minded during the day, doesn't count at all.
What about the nibbles you have eaten in that pub and the leftover food you have mindlessly eaten when cleaning up. Or the food samples in the supermarkets when you were really hungry. Maybe you thought how can a small piece of cheese matter.. Well, unfortunately, it does matter and will add to your daily calorie intake or points or whatever the eating plan you are following.
You might convince others that you have not strayed from your eating plan, but who are you kidding. If you don't lose weight, the results speak for themselves.
I have friends who do a fair amount of exercise a week and say I hardly eat a thing, I look at them and think their body shape looks much the same and they don't appear to have lost any weight. Then I ask about their food intake and say well you must be eating too much food or you would have lost weight. They absolutely deny any such thing and look at you as if you are accusing them of some heinous crime.
It is probably not the best idea to fall out with your friends over their eating issues, yet it is surely better to be honest with your friends, and then collude with them.
Maybe you and your friends can help each other and talk about the food issues you are experiencing. Eating problems are a common problem amongst a large proportion of the population, so if you have problems, you are not on your own.
You can help yourself by considering more mindful eating. Always choose your food wisely. What does that food contain? Is it good for your body? Even if you want to eat just sugar and fat, don't feel guilty and eat it in secret..Acknowledge and accept that is the food that you wanted to eat at that time.
Be aware of the food that you are eating.
