Some of us are blessed with that admirable feature of the photographic memory. But the truth is everyone has the capability to remember every detail of what they set out to remember. Your mind is like a camcorder, except even better because it records all of the senses, and this is the key feature that will help you to start recalling events every time you need to. The important issue being time-sensitive in most cases, you need to know, "now!", or fail the test, bomb the presentation, forget where your keys are, which makes it possible to accomplish all of the above!
More than just Photographic
The ability to remember at will is better than just photographic because all five senses are in use when you try and remember certain things and specific details. How many of us cringe at all those four syllable words with pronunciations that sound nothing like the word reads? It is a major contributor to innocently building mental blocks to remembering complex details. If you don't like it, the senses used in remembering the details start to reduce systematically to where it's just your eyes and the text in a deadlock battle. How do we avoid this aggravating experience? Create a better "experience".
Atmosphere and Study Time
Remembering complex or even simple details can be an enlightening experience and a huge confidence builder that reaches into all aspects of your life. I'm writing this article from memory, but with some research to ensure the latest facts are included. So, Atmosphere - yes! Having those candlelight dinners to celebrate an anniversary, a promotion, or a new home are great examples of your photographic memory at work. We all remember those key moments, so how do we go about memorizing the details of complex text, being ready to recall it at will the next day or following week?
- Set an agreeable atmosphere for your blocks of time.
- Your favorite songs or favorite TV show or movie don't have to be distractions.
- Have a light snack, or eat something that triggers all those"good" endorphins.
Having something you enjoy present while you sit down to study, or while on the go, is highly advisable as it will help you in pinpointing the details later on when you have that exam or tasks at work. Doing this is the same as rewinding on the camcorder to find the exact occurrence for what's required. The best result is giving you a sense of relief and certainly more confidence to accomplish more in less time and get things right on the first attempt. You can look forward to better results and people will take notice of your improvements, and guess what, it didn't take hours or days to practice for results, it's just a matter of remembering, not memorizing - because we all have that photographic memory potential and learning to unlock its advantages is something we can share as more successes are achieved!:)
