Men It\'s About Time You Gained Some Weight?

You are underweight, you don't feel good, you look sickly or weak and you just want to fill out. It's common among young men who are maturing and want to look better and feel stronger. It's also common among those in mid age who never really worried about weight, but are now wanting to look and feel good for a woman (hey, if the gals do it for us, we should return the favor! ), so they want to put on a little weight.

If you are passing middle age, think of yourself as lucky you do not have a weight problem, and might I suggest to you, that the ego is no longer quite as active in regard to personal appearance.

Anyway, there are umpteen reasons why you think you need a change in your weight, I can guess at quite a few just by looking at you, but I'll bet you have your own personal reasons and a good look in the mirror and reflecting (no pun intended) on what you see should provide a few. However, just in case you have never thought of the WHY? Here are the reasons why you might want to put on weight:

You are just too skinny and it's all due to your diet.

You have a high metabolism rate and no matter how much you eat, you never seem to gain weight

You want to play a sport where being a little heavy would provide a more enjoyable experience

Hey, you're an actor and you need to gain weight for a role...it could happen...

So the obvious answer is to eat more! What a surprise! There is no reason why this will not work for everyone, but the high metabolism sufferers. But wait, what kind of weight do you want to put on? The real question is what are the choices of food you will take in to maintain your healthy.

Stay away from food that will harm your body! Stay away from processed food if you can at all help it. Drink lots of water. I don’t have the room or inclination to list all the foods that will help you gain weight. Anything high in carbs will help.

Anything fatty/greasy/oily will help put weight on - your arteries! Stay away from fried foods most of the time, however you do need a certain amount of oil in your body, just make sure it's the good kind – virgin olive oil comes to mind.

Now let’s not just eat more to gain weight, you need to add some muscle while you are at it. Muscle is weight, and it will make you look and feel better. The ladies love a little muscle on a man, but don’t go nuts, you don’t need to look like Arnold to feel and look better.

Strength of spirit, mind and body will make you the perfect mate.
