Learn How To Control Dreams - Does Lucid Dreaming Work?

Strange, wonderful and even impossible things regularly happen in our dreams. Some of us are driven by the desire to consciously influence the outcome of our dreams. But how to control dreams at will? Does lucid dreaming work when trying to improve our dreaming experience? Many people like to be in control. Others simply do not like their dreams. In general, there are three reasons why people consider changing the course of their dreams:

1. to influence them in a lucid dream to experience extraordinary alternate reality, 2. to dream about a particular content or object in order to solve a problem, 3. to end a recurring nightmare. If you found yourself in one of the categories, carry on reading!

The most powerful technique is lucid dreaming. Yes, it really works and it's the best technique know to man. Lucid dream creates a truly mind-blowing vivid alternate reality, offering endless possibilities. You can transform yourself into whatever object you choose, become invisible, step through a wall or a mirror, fly across the universe, materialize a submarine in deepest oceans and so on and so on…

Are you asking yourself - How does lucid dreaming work? Well, becoming aware of the dreaming state enables you get great amount of control of your dreams. It is a state where you can consciously observe your dreams by “waking up” in a dream.

Think of one of the best movies on lucid dreaming - Inception - a gripping film about technologically-induced, shared lucid dreams and dream invasions. The dream architects consciously manipulate the dreamscape of their victims in order to implant an idea in their subconscious mind. But, just like in a regular or lucid dream, the subconscious mind (which governs our dream world) has its own agenda. And that’s where it gets challenging, yet really interesting! Although shared lucid dreams are still a subject of science fiction, the rest of the content seems very real to experienced lucid dreamers.

If you want to do something about your life and conventional ways or therapies do not work, consider using your dreamland to change it. Want to become a better person? Or just thinking of improving your sleeping time? I encourage you to look additional information about how lucid dreaming works to get a full picture of the potential it can offer you in terms of self-development.

Dream control and lucid dreaming are closely related to each other. Dream control is typically an intermediate step in lucid dreaming. The first state is purely recognizing when you are dreaming and thus learning the laws of the dream world.

However, even without realizing you are in a lucid dream, you may find yourself thrown into a bizarre, unpredictable dreamland where you have very little dream control. This is absolutely normal for beginner lucid dreamers. With practice, you gain more experience in manipulating your dreaming environment, characters and objects occurring in your dreams.

If you want to do something in a waking state (like make a few steps forward), you simply use your will power to make it happen. Most of the time your brain and your body work together flawlessly; the body simply follows the brain’s will. However, in a dream world, there are totally different physical laws compared to reality.

In a dream (or particularly lucid dream), you are suddenly in possession of a ghostly, shapeless body that can run through walls and travel through time. It is your job (and the fundamental of conscious dream control) to start a dialogue with your subconscious mind and work with it in order to alter what it produced.

Many people just assume that lucid dreaming equals dream control, but this is not true. Lucid dreaming only means that a person having a lucid dream has consciousness within the dream state and CAN develop an ability to change the course of his/her dream.

Also, another common misconception about dream control is that it works instantly and always the way we expect it to. This is just not the case here. Our mind is too complex to work that way. No matter how experienced you are, sometimes things just do not happen the way you imagined. It is good to bear that in mind as you start digging through various sources on how to control dreams and exploring numerous techniques.

You can start with a good general rule: have confidence in yourself and believe that you can accomplish your goal. After that just practice various dream control/ lucid dreaming techniques, play with what works best for you and do not give in!

To wrap it up. Does lucid dreaming work in terms of dream control? Absolutely. You can learn how to control dreams using a few very effective and easy-to-learn lucid dreaming techniques. Once you become familiar with lucidity, you can learn how to solve problems in dreams, stop recurring nightmares or just have a dialogue with your subconscious mind at will.
