Are You Stressed Out At Work?
Have you always wondered how you can control stress management in the workplace? Maybe for yourself, your employees or even your spouse.
With today's ailing economy it is absolutely no wonder why people are totally stressed out at work. The underlying question they have in their minds is "Will I have a job tomorrow?". Or "Will my business make it through this?". This is a totally frightening and unfortunately realistic situation. Nobody wants to be left without an income.
The ironic thing is that the more stressed out you actually are, the more likely you are to loose your job! This is because if you are stressed out you will not be a nice person to be around and to work with, the quality of your work will deteriorate and your communications skills will suffer. So let's take a look at how we can stop this snowball effect from ruining our lives.
How Can I Manage Stress In My Workplace?
Let's look at some factors that will help you implement stress management in the workplace.
1. EXERCISE - Make sure you are getting at least 30 minutes of exercise a day, even more than that if you have the time. Exercise does incredible things to the mind as well as the body. You will feel less stressed almost immediately.
2. DIET - Eat healthy wholesome food. This cannot be 'stressed' enough (excuse the play on words here!). We literally are what we eat. When you take care of what goes in to your mouth you will feel so much better. There are lots that can be said about a healthy diet, but that's not for this article. You can find out anything you want to know about food and dieting easily on the web these days.
3. SLEEP - Most of us don't get enough sleep. This can lead to being totally stressed out the following day and it is impossible to be proactive and have a productive day if you are tired. Everybody knows how many hours do them good but generally speaking at least seven hours of solid sleep a night will do the trick.
4. ALCOHOL - Alcohol consumption should be minimized to very small levels and if possible then it should be eliminated all together. The effects of alcohol will leave you feeling very irritable and tired the next day. Productivity will be minimum.
Once you recognize that you have a problem with stress then take it upon yourself to implement these four concepts into your daily routine. You will feel an immediate difference in your personality and your stress will be minimized. You will gain a whole lot more confidence in yourself and your job will be way more secure because nobody will want to risk losing such a great, easy going, productive worker.
