There is six dreaded fear that man deals with during his lifetime, however, there are others but none is as more nail biting and fearfully as these six. Since the beginning, the man was fearless of things associated with them and the earth because all was perfect, but since the fall of man’s fear came into existence and has spread throughout the world. From the time, the man fell in disobedience he had to hide in the Garden from the Most High and All Powerful Creator called God. From this action of man, it created a chain of action that pass down in time to present day.
What exact is fear? An unpleasant emotion caused by the threat of danger, pain, harm, terror, fright, fearfulness, horror, alarm, panic, agitation, trepidation, dread, consternation, dismay. It can also be a feeling of anxiety concerning the outcome of something or the safety of someone and the likelihood of something unwelcome happening.
Criticism will take the first spot since it is one of the first fears we encounter as children. We fear the critics from our parents and did our utmost best to ensure that we do not encounter them. A slight critic would make most of us burst out in tears. As we went through the process of babies until we become adults, we encountered a lot of expression, disapproval of someone or something on the basis of perceived faults or mistakes. Criticism does nothing but installs fear and resistance in individuals as a whole. Dealing with criticism is not easy, but if we keep in mind that when we are criticized we can learn from our mistakes and not taking things too personal, remember that no one is perfect, don’t make excuses, remember stick and stones will break out bones, but words are just, plan wind.
Lost love is an emotion that fills many with regret, blame, and anger, and is something that almost every human have, experienced at one time or another. It is not necessarily a Sweet Heart or a dear Wife and Husband because it could be one’s Mother, a Sister and possible a Father as well. Be angry if you need to be, gain confidence, remember that every day is a new day and more changes are on the way, get the support of a friend or family member and have fun.
Old age is a big worry for many and it can be started by those in their 20s and advance as they age and progress up to the time they reach their 40s, it may become worse by the time they pass their 50s. They fret about their looks, health and about how their end of life is almost upon them. Concerns such as the reduction of their mental health and loss of personal independent become issues as well. The clock of life can never be stopped as long as the hand of time continues to tick for the living. However, we can reduce the depression of old age by; talking about how we feel with loved ones, and always remind ourselves that it is normal for people to age because it is the process of life and accept the progress as it is, since there is nothing one can do about it, however we can delay the aging process but not the time.
Disease (ill health) is one of the today's big issues because the more we worry about such the thing is, the more we harm ourselves and increase our health problems. Anxiety and worry tend to prolong dreaded diseases or illness that we encounter and in most cases the best action is to seek professional help from a medical personnel. The human mind is very powerful and it can cure as well as destroy, so it is best to be positive by filling our thoughts with the right mental concepts and it will help us to fight back. Feeling ill? Then act well and talk well in order to create the proper influence upon our mind. One of the best ways is to have a positive conversation with others or ourselves before a mirror each day.
Poverty is a very destructive fear for many, and a man is considered a worm unless he can display an extremely fat bank account. Men suffer humility and shame when under this condition and factors such as the decline in the economic activities of many countries of the world due to Government carelessness or a bad turn of circumstance, include man lack of desire to pursue wealth which contributed to destruction and widespread of poverty. The fear of poverty is spreading extremely rapidly today from various countries to every corner of the world. This condition has been known to deprive one of their self-respect and manhood includes breed envy and jealousness for others who are better off than oneself. To combat this monster is to develop the desire for wealth, to have and to acquire and find ways and means to move from the situation of poverty to wealth. Starting with an idea and take action to bring about wealth.
Death is the most dreaded fear which is similar to be afraid of the unknown. Many men and women have always worried about the thought of where will they go when they die. “Will I venture straightaway into heaven when I die or will the devil take me and burn me throughout eternity”. This is the common question on the mind of many. The very thought of burning forever in the lake of fire is not a pretty thought for man and so the concept of death is dreaded by all. The fear of death brings the concept of Religion to the surface and many go as far to have confession with their local Priest or get baptized, while there are some who do their best to avoid the thought by keeping busy or simply don’t care.
As long as we live on this planet that we call mother earth, these six dreadful fears will continue to be with us, therefore the best course of action is to do whatever we can make life worth living and accept things as they come.
“Knowing your own ignorance is the first step to enlightenment.”
â Patrick Rothfuss, The Wise Man's Fear
Your ending is so true - doing whatever we can to make life worth living (purpose!) and accepting things as they come. Fear is real, and yet we can make a difference in how we respond to it. I write about purpose and acceptance in my blog, so your article is quite interesting to me. Thanks!
Another great article Andrew. I believe the fear of death is a very strong one. That one I don't really experience since I believe it is just a transition. We leave our bodies or 'overcoats" as Oprah has stated and we move on spiritually.
Your article makes me think deep, yes these are the fears in most of Men.
