Finding spiritual truths is a difficult process, mainly because of our upbringing, an over saturation of information, and a lack of personal searching. At one point in my life I found myself pondering the matter of truth, and where it could be found? After searching for many years, reading many mainstream books, going to lectures given by so-called experts, I was still dissatisfied. My inner self was not satisfied, that little voice (one could call this instinct or intuition or conscience) could not be silenced.
I continued praying and meditating and found myself asking a store owner about reincarnation. He handed me a book, Frabato the Magician by Franz Bardon -- and WOW! This edition was an earlier translation, a little stilted, but it stirred something within that I told everyone I knew about this book. Frabato the Magician was not necessarily about reincarnation, it does refer to a number of Franz Bardon's previous lives, and it opened up a whole new world of thought and spiritual experiences that I purchased all of Bardon's books on Hermetics.
The Bardon books are a The Egyptian Mysteries (also known as The Sacred Mysteries), and originate from the Primordial Source. In Initiation into Hermetics, Bardon uses the elements of water, fire, air, and earth as a basis, and provides the means to understanding the negative and the positive within ourselves, in order to achieve a balance within ourselves.
To achieve freedom for our spirit, a separation much occur; separation from worry, fear, etc., and not allow it to be dominated by our soul (the seat of all our inherited and adopted characteristics) or our physical body (the lowest of our three bodies, albeit a necessary one), and especially not by a third-party who has little interest in our spiritual growth.
I have always believed in a higher power, but my understanding of this power has been transformed through my development with the Franz Bardon books, and without sounding like a cliche the power of spiritual knowledge within me was brought to the forefront, buried for many years under a tarp of non-thinking and misinformation. What I learned after reading the writings of Franz Bardon (Initiation into Hermetics, The Practice of Magical Evocation, The Key to the True Kabbalah) is that spiritual truths are infinite, which one can build on physically, astrally and spiritually, and conventional religions are finite with the express purpose of muddling the spiritual laws, so much so that no one can make any sense of them.
In order to grow spiritually, we must be responsible for and to ourselves, physically, astrally, and mentally. That is what the Franz Bardon books on Hermetics teaches us -- to develop three-dimensionally in order to find balance in our physical self, our astral self, and our spiritual self. Before the Bardon exercises can be started, we must learn the theory of Hermetics and make it our own, even if we only read Bardon's books philosophically. The main purpose of spiritual growth is separation, separation of bad from good, separation of our earthly tendencies (which keep us earthbound), and the separation of the finite. Not only do the Bardon books provide the theory of body, soul, and spirit, his books on hermetics also provide the practice of finding and achieving a higher spiritual existence.
