In this article, you will learn what goes on in your mind every time you want to take action. And how you can make your emotions work for you and manage your state efficiently. So that you can take action and succeed at any goal you want to achieve. I believe that managing your state of mind is the key to your success.
The biggest question is: “Are you going to take action?” Are you going to do the things you need to do? Most people take action when they feel like it. Knowing how to change your state of mind, when you need it to, is going to help you to take action. Imagine what happens to your life when you take action consistently? You succeed. It is that simple!
Knowing How You Work
Believe it or not, your brain stores everything you have ever seen. It is a CD player that records everything. Not only does it record memories, it especially records emotions of past events. It knows how an activity that you were doing feels like. Your brain does this process incredibly fast. Many times we don’t even register the thoughts that we associate with the feeling.
And you know that because when it is time to take action, it feels uncomfortable and difficult to do. Most things that are necessary are just not fun and easy. Achieving success is never only fun and easy. Otherwise, everybody would be successful.
You know what happens on the 1st of January? Everyone makes New Year resolutions. “I am going to work out and get healthy starting January 1st and I am going to stay consistent!” What happens after about 1 month? They stop because they don’t know how to manage their state of mind. “Managing your state of mind” should be the first thing on their New Year resolution list and you can start right now.
But why do most people stop? Most people don’t realize that making a New Year resolution is one step of managing your state of mind. But it is only one part of it with the other puzzle pieces missing.
Make Your Emotional State Work For You
What do you think about when you make your New Year’s resolution? You think about an outcome, something that you want to achieve. When you think about that outcome it automatically changes your state. That is why most people start making New Year’s resolutions and take the first step towards their goal.
When you are in the right state of mind your chances are much higher to take action. But what happens after 1 month? You stop seeing and focusing on the outcome! All you think about is the pain and your current undesired condition. Most people stop because they stop drugging themselves with the desired outcome.
Essentially…
Managing your state of mind is nothing but putting the right pictures of your desired outcomes in front of you when it’s time to take action. You will feel the rush of having met your goal already. Your emotions will change and you will feel like taking action.
This is important because taking action is an emotional decision.
You will have to pick goals that you really want to achieve. Make yourself feel as if you would have your goal right now. How would it feel if you would have the perfect body? How would you feel if you were financially free? How would you feel if…etc?
Your Steps To Managing Your State Of Mind
Step 1 Find a worthy goal you want to pursue.
Step 2 Visualize and imagine how having your goals will make you feel.
Step 3 Use your imagination and visualize those goals when it is time to take action!
How Do You Know You Picked The Right Goals? If the pain you will be going through is stronger than the desired outcome, you have picked the wrong goal to pursue. This is true because you will always avoid more pain than go for a goal that gives you less pleasure.
You will know you have picked the right goal if it changes your state and you will choose to take action more often than not.
Conclusion
People that are disciplined know what they are going for and how it makes them feel. They’re not better than any other human being. They are just smart when it comes to managing their state of mind. Success is nothing but one thing done consistently. Remember to always stay focused. Every beginning is hard, but once you get started it will also be very difficult to stop.
