Meditation has gained notoriety over the last 50-60 years, ever since science began investigating its benefits and coming up with surprisingly positive results. It’s no wonder meditation programs are so popular, giving almost everyone an opportunity to experience the benefits meditation can offer.
When I was in the market to buy a meditation program, I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted. I had been doing some research for a little while, so I became familiar with what was out there and decided on a simple program that enhanced different brainwaves progressively through the course. Using the program has been a helpful addition to my regular meditative practice that began as a simple introduction into the practice.
Before you buy a meditation program, there are some basic questions to answer in order to get what you want out of the product. Once determined, there’s a program bound to be a match that can help you get the most out of meditation.
First off, what type of program are you looking for? There are a lot of different types to choose from, so it depends on what you want to get out of it. There are programs for those who are looking for something simple to compliment their current meditative practice such as soft music, nature sounds or chants. Then there are programs that are more intense and can influence meditative states of consciousness through the use of brain entrainment. Some programs fall in the middle using binaural beats with soft music to induce relaxation. These are perfect for beginners, making it easier for them to experience the positive feelings from meditation.
What are binaural beat meditation programs? You may have heard about binaural beats and their use with brain entrainment. Slightly different tones are embedded into some calming background music that can manipulate the mind to resonate the same frequencies as the difference in tones between your ears. These programs can induce alpha, theta and delta waves, different levels of meditative states, and facilitate achieving deeper levels of consciousness accessible much quicker than with traditional methods.
What do you want to spend? Obviously the budget to buy a meditation program is up to you, but if you are looking for the convenience of achieving meditative states quicker, you pay for it. The program I had purchased was well worth the price for the experience it helped my have and continue to enjoy. At about $50, you can get a great beginners meditation program or you can buy the first course of a more intense program, that’s up to you.
When you are ready to buy a meditation program, look to see if it can grow with you through your practice. If you are a beginner, does the program go in the direction that will enhance your growth and guide you through different levels of experience? Or are you experienced with meditation and looking for something to add to your current practice? Either way, there are some great programs that can compliment any type of practice.
