Kindle Fire specs are surprisingly difficult to come by for the new Amazon tablet even with the glut of reviews that exist and so I decided to focus purely on the specs. of the kindle Fire.
We will start with the Display or screen which is a 7" display which has touch controls which means that you can operate the device by touching the screen. It comes equipped with something called IPS (in-plane switching) technology and anti-glare capabilities, the 1024 by 600 pixel screen resolution at 169 ppi boasts sixteen million colors, which I take to mean the display is clear and easy to see, this resolution is higher than some lcd flat panel t.v's on the market today.
The actual dimensions of the screen are 7.5" by 4.7" by 0.45" or 190 mm by 120 mm by 11.4 mm, so it is roughly between the size of a phone and a regular 10' tablet like the ipad 2 or the samsung galaxy tab.
It Weigh in at 4.6 ounces or 413 grams a soda can weighs 12 fluid ounces so this is really light.
The 8 GB internal memory listed for the device is actually about 6 GB of useable storage. That is nothing to sneeze at as it is equivalent to storing 6000 books, or 800 songs or 80 applications and 10 movies. Added storage for stuff you get from Amazon can be found via the Amazon Cloud which is free storage on a virtual server.
The battery is supposed to hold as much as 8 hours of juice for reading, or alternatively 7 ½ hours of playing video (all while the wireless capability is turned off). Amazon asserts that it takes about 4 hours to charge. You can charge it from an outlet or via a USB port (which will naturally take longer)
Connecting to the internet with the Kindle Fire is via a Wi-Fi Connection so you will not be able to get online unless you are in a location with wi-fi access or a hotspot. Unfortunately you cannot connect to a peer-to-peer connection.
The USB port is a 2.0 connection port with micro-B connector. The speakers on the Kindle Fire are on top of the device and are stereo speakers. There is also a 3.5 mm stereo audio jack incorporated into the tablet.
The Kindle Fire runs the open source Goggle’s Android operating system.
These are all the Kindle Fire specs I thought were important and i hope they were as helpful as a customer review of the Kindle Fire.
