OS X Mountain Lion is here and it brings a number of news features that make your mundane computer related tasks easier than ever before. Among the 200 new features, it has integrated iCloud, a web based data storage and sharing service from Apple. Users can register themselves on the iCloud with the Apple ID and enjoy wireless synchronization of all data from Macs to iOS devices.

It is a boon as you can now store all your valuable information on the cloud server rather than on the device. Data would be safe from natural disasters and calamities. Mountain Lion provides you an added advantage by syncing all data automatically on to the iCloud and subsequently adding them to all the Apple devices that you own. You don't need to do it manually anymore. Just make sure that you use one common Apple ID while registering your device to the iCloud, everytime you buy an Apple product.

This feature is highly advantageous for scheduling your contacts and preparing the calendar. You do it from one device, and it gets added on to all the others.

To set up iCloud on your iPad, iPhone or Mac, you will need the Apple ID. On the OS X Mountain Lion, you can set up iCloud by going to System Preferences and logging in with the Apple ID. After the authentication process gets over, you will be given an option to enable the services that you require. You are advised to enable the 'Find My Mac' and Photo Stream services. The former ensures better security of your Mac in an event of mishaps like theft or burglary while the latter provides auto-syncing of photos to all devices. However, it is up to you to choose and enable features that are preferable and suit your needs better.

To enable cross platform syncing of data, you will require turning on the same options. You can do this by simply going to Settings followed by iCloud on your iPhone or iPad. Do check if you are having a common Apple account for Mac and iOS devices. Also check whether the services that are enabled on your Mac are same as the ones on your iPhone or iPad.

The upcoming iOS 6 has an advanced feature which will not only sync data from the mail and calendar apps but also the tabs that are opened on the newer version of Safari. However, you can enjoy this benefit only if you are using the OS X Mountain Lion. This feature is of great advantage if you are browsing from home and require to leave, while continuing with the online work.

Syncing data with iCloud is thus a very useful feature on the OS X Mountain Lion. It saves lots of time and tends to minimize issues that arise during your daily working schedule. Once you register your device with iCloud, you can enjoy seamless synchronization of data on all the Apple devices, without having to do it manually.
