After Apple announced the iOS 6 at Worldwide Developers Conference, users have been waited with baited breath for its launch. Like every year, this time too Apple has revamped its mobile operating system.

The iOS 6 will be reaching people through the third generation iPads as well as iPad 2. No doubt, the device with new OS will give users a better computing experience. A bevy of new features have been incorporated into iOS 6.Some of them have been revealed by Apple at the WWDC.

How will the iPad change this time? Let’s take a look.

iOS 6 to bring LTE technology to iPad

LTE technology, i.e. 4G technology will be coming to iPad using the new version of iOS, announced Apple. The new technology brings in FaceTime calls over cellular and Wi-Fi. It would be more beneficial to users than facilities like Skype that are already available on both 3G and 4G networks.

Map app to work together with Siri

The new Map app is seemingly one of the noteworthy features of iOS 6. What’s more, voice recognition through Siri has been connected to the Maps which will give users a new approach towards using Maps and GPS. Imagine you have an iPad mounted on to your car’s dashboard while driving on an unfamiliar route and you get to use the maps through voice-driven commands. For a new user, the experience would be easier than before as well as enthralling. Also, the number of people using GPS would go up by a huge margin.

Using the iPad as a remote operating device

Siri is not yet equipped with an Application Programming Interface (API) but it can be used interactively to know sports related information like scores, timings, match venue, etc. You can also check mails, movie schedules and ticket availability using voice commands. The iPad with a larger display than the iPhone makes for a better device for voice interaction. Users can anticipate using the IPad as a hands-free device to give inputs to a connected Apple TV in the near future once it gets an API.

iPad to be a substitute for laptops

For some specific tasks, laptop users can now think of replacing their device with an iPad. Reviewers have found out lately that iOS 6 makes it much easier to write word documents, articles and blogs while traveling, than its predecessor. However, uploading snaps could still be time consuming according to Apple. The new iOS will allow users to upload photos and videos directly from the browser. This implies that you can upload photographs directly without using any apps.

Offline e-reading made easy

With loads of reading apps at its disposal, users might wonder what Apple has done this time to improve offline reading. It has only added an offline reading mode into Safari which will put an end to Instapaper and allow users to read without staying connected via the internet.

Sharing tasks on Multiple Screens

The iCloud tabs on the new Safari makes it easier to share tasks between multiple screens. The iOS 6 will enable sharing tasks between different Apple devices with new built-in apps. The apps will be common to iPhones, iPads and MacBooks alike.

As everyone’s noticed, Apple keeps adding some new features to its existing devices and operating systems to come up with a new product every year. The iOS 6 is no different. In keeping with its reputation for making premium products, Apple introduces a new iOS to pamper general users and tech enthusiasts. For detailed information on its features, users will have to wait for some time till it is launched.
