With all the new tablet computers on the market these days, it can be difficult to determine which one is the best one to buy. There's the well-known iPad, the Acer Iconia Tab, and of course, the Asus Eee Pad Transformer (which is the focus of this article).
But the truth is, there is no one tablet computer which is the "best" one. They all have different features which may suit some individuals more than others.
Since I recently decided to buy an Asus Eee Pad Transformer, I decided to write an article about experiences with this innovative new tablet computer, to help prospective buyers determine whether this tablet computer is the best one for them.
In this Asus Eee Pad Transformer review, I will talk about the central Asus Eee Pad Transformer specs and features, what sets it apart from other competing tablet computers, and finish up with suggestions on where to buy it. Hopefully by the end of my review you will be able to determine whether this tablet computer is for you.
If you're interested in buying it, by the end of the article you will also be equipped with knowledge about where to buy Asus Eee Pad Transformers for the best price.
Asus Eee Pad Tranformer Specs and Features
If you have heard anything about the Asus Eee Pad Transformer, you will probably be aware of its biggest selling point: its ability to "transform" between a tablet computer and a netbook. So not only does the Asus Eee Pad Transformer give you the mobility of a tablet, it also gives you the useability of a laptop computer with its keyboard attachment.
Although Asus is not the first company to come up with a transformable tablet computer (e.g. the Acer Iconia Pad), it is the first one to do it quite successfully. The keyboard docking station attaches super easily (it simply clicks in place) and words just like a netbook. That means you can close it all the way and take it with you if you need to move.
The keyboard itself works quite well, and allows you to navigate easily around the Android 3.0 platform with the trackpad. My only criticism is that there did seem to be a little bit of lag when I was typing things into online forms. It was nothing that really got in the way of the tablet's overall useability, but I did notice it.
Asus Eee Pad Transformer Graphics
As far as graphics go, the Asus Eee Pad Transformer is at the top of its class. It had a beautiful 10.1" display with an HD 1280x800 resolution. There animated wallpaper feature was pretty cool, and surprisingly did not slow down the tablet at all.
The Asus Transformer also boasts a 1.2 MP Webcam on the front and a 5.0 MP Webcam on the back, so you can take video or pictures at your leisure.
How Does the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Compare To the Competition
And now we arrive at the all important question: Should you buy the Asus Eee Pad Transformer over other tablet computers?
If you're an individual that would get a lot out of the transformer function, I would highly recommend you buy the Asus Eee Pad Transformer. It is fully functional and allows you the versatility to shift between a tablet and a netbook. This is a perfect item for college students or people who get a lot of work done outside of home.
Its functionality and graphics are at least as good as the iPad (I've compared the Asus Transformer with my friend's iPad), so it is not clear whether the iPad is worth the extra dough. However, a further comparison reveals that the Asus Transformer is slightly heavier and thicker than the iPad. Mind you, I don't believe this gets in the way of its portability or useability.
And finally there's the price.
As far as tablet computers go, the Asus Eee Pad Transformer is the best value. The baseline model is $399 at most online retailers, which is a rock bottom price considering all of its features.
Where to Buy Asus Eee Pad Transformers
Although it may be tempting to buy it from a local retailer, I highly recommend you check out some online deals first before you make your purchasing decision. Often times online retailers have lower prices because they have access to a much larger market (they have higher sales volumes).
The only drawback to purchasing products online is that you often have to pay shipping fees.
I just recently found an incredible deal online when I went to buy the Asus Eee Pad Transformer. After scouting around for the best deals on the Asus Transformer, I found a place where you could buy it for a few dollars less and with free shipping.
Before you buy the Asus Transformer, make sure you also do some research on where to buy Asus Eee Pad Transformers and how to take advantage of discounts and free shipping.
