Viruses and malware pose threats not only to computers but to mobile computing devices like your most loved smartphone -- be it iPhone or Android phones as well. In case your phone gets infected with viruses or Trojan you suffer a serious threat of losing your vital data available on the device. It becomes more important to take proper care of your phone’s security as viruses can spread fast through e-mails, attachments, text messages or internet browsing. The best way to protect your smartphone from viruses is to install good quality antivirus software. In case you suspect a virus on your smartphone you need to act promptly and look for means to remove them at once.

To know more about it go through the points discussed below:

Restore the smartphone

The first step you need to take in case of a virus attack is to restore the phone to factory settings. Before doing anything further you need to take out the SIM card and memory chip as they contain vital information stored on it that might be attacked by the virus. In majority of cases, mobile phone viruses first infect the SIM card and steal or destroy the information stored on it. You are recommended to restore all the settings to factory settings. It is considered one of the most effective ways of getting rid of mobile phone viruses.

Use effective antivirus software

For every smartphone user it becomes essential to use an effective antivirus program to get protection from viruses that might infect them while browsing the internet, e-mailing or downloading an attachment. Antivirus software protects your device in the same way it does for a computer. It not only guards your phone from viruses but also removes them if they are present on the phone. You also get malware and virus scans, software updates and removal of viruses for the better performance of your smartphone.

Always use the permission list

It is highly recommended to use the permission list while downloading an application on your smartphone. The use of permission list for downloading apps is very effective and keeps threats away from your smartphone. You can choose to explore other features of the antivirus software to protect the device.

Update the software regularly

Updating the software is more important than installing the antivirus because if it is not updated its features and security components would not be active. On the contrary if the software is updated and its features are active you don’t require to worry at all as viruses and malware will be denied entry to your smartphone.

However, there are plenty of other things that you can do to protect your smartphone but if you are following the above mentioned tips then majority of the challenges are over. So find out an effective antivirus program and always use the permission if you are downloading something via the internet. This will keep your smartphone safe and infection-free.
