Meal Plan For A 7 Months Old Baby

My son turned 7 months few days ago and he started to understand different tastes and became somehow picky. I think that nutrition is very important this age and I try every way possible to give him a good taste with high value. This is my routine:

1. Nursing 'breast feeding is the best.

2. Breakfast

He doesn't like cereals very much now so I give him a spoon or two, an egg yolk, and a triangle of processed cheese spread.

I think I might start giving him oats or whole wheat instead of cerials. I gave him oats once and he loved it so, I will definitely consider it for it's high value.

3. Lunch

Boiled vegetables 'carrot, potato, sweet potato, black beans, peas, lentils', boiled chicken or grilled fish, and sometime I add rice or macaroni

And whenever he doesn't like how it tastes, I add some cumin, onion, lemon, or some very thinly chopped cheddar cheese. you can also add a slice of tomato, or some onion.

Also, I constantly mix 2 veggies together like carrot and potato

4. Nursing

5. Dinner

Here I give him fruits like banana, boiled apple or pear, dates, pumpkin, or whatever available at home with one or two babies’ biscuits.

6. Nursing

Now remember few things to apply:

Remember giving your child some water after every meal.

If he/she didn't like a certain food, don't be upset. Give him another thing that contains the same value and try later. Also try to hide this certain food in something else he likes like putting the carrot that he doesn't like with a small portion in the potato that he loves.

You can also mix fruit or sweet food with things that he doesn’t like. They don’t actually get the concept of what food should come together by now. So, you can mix and match the way you like to make your little one eat the healthy food you want to give him.

Get creative and always search for different recipes to prepare for your kids. There are tons of recipes online.

Give him healthy snacks like a slice of toast, apple, and pear.

Be your kids' role model by eating healthy food for him.

Make meal time like a happy hour for him, play funny songs of his favorite, sing and play with him to relate food and happiness together.

And finally remember that these are your baby's most important years. So, be in charge and take responsibility from now. Also, don't forget to share your recipes, tips, or information here for all moms.
