In life every situation an individual is presented with can be very challenging if you are not organized. When asked to go out or get something if you don’t know where it’s at or have to climb over things to get it this can make you lose time. Not to mention the stress that it would cause when you can’t find what you’re looking for. Staying organized is what makes a human in most cases reliable. For example if you have plans with a friend and forgot where you were supposed to meet them, if you’re not organized you won’t know where to start. Even the smallest things if not organized can cause headache and stress, for example if you need a pen for class and you are already running late. Most likely you are going to be late for your class whether you find the pen or not.
Being un-organized can also cause procrastination. If you don’t know where you put an item, you will be less likely to start looking for it. Not to mention that individuals will wait till the last minute to look and will be late or not show up at all for important events. Procrastination can also cause self-doubt, if you can’t find something you might start to question yourself. For example you might say, “If I can’t even keep my stuff organized enough to find a pen, then how am I suppose to keep myself organized for life”.
People who are un-organized often find themselves lazy in other areas of life. For example when it comes to doing chores around the yard if you don’t have a set day to do them, you will always be putting your chores off till tomorrow. If you don’t have a calendar or an organized book of your plans tomorrow does not exist. If tomorrow doesn’t exist that usually means that improving yourself or your life doesn’t either.
The best way to become organized is to ask a friend or outsider questions about you. Most people can’t see their faults or flaws as individuals. That is why we count on others opinions around us to help us to identify ourselves. As humans we always put are self’s really high up on the totem pole. We never see what we’re doing wrong or most of our mistakes. As humans we like to believe that we are perfect and every buddy else needs to improve to be more like us.
Another good way to be organized is document everything you have to do. You can do this with a notebook. You can always do this with your cell phone or laptop. This way anytime you have plans you will be ready in advanced. Put the documents where you will see them every day. For example on the refrigerator, on the toilet seat, and anywhere you will see them on a daily bases.
Another good way is to make goals. Find out what your plans are for the week and make a goals sheet. With a goals sheet you can check off everything you have done. This can work in your favor because the more goals you get done on your sheet the more time you will have to do what you want. Not to mention you will feel better about yourself for accomplishing your goals.
In conclusion being organized consists of many life changes. In order to be organized you will need to change your life style a little bit. You will first have to ask your friends questions about yourself. Then you will have to get out of the habit of being a procrastinator, break out of this cycle now because it will help improve yourself and the way you function. Another good way is to document everything you need to do and make sure it’s in front of you at all times. You never know when you might need to be reminded of your responsibilities. The last good way to start being organized is to make goals, goals help with self improvement not to mention increase self-worth.
