I do believe at some point in time you have asked yourself if you have what it takes to make it in many ares of your life. Be it your job, with your family, or maybe even just making it through as tough day. This can be a very difficult question to answer, sometimes there may not seem like there is an answer. I have asked myself this question many times in my life and not always had the answer and yet I am still here making it.
For most people our lives have many ups and downs. That is just the way life is sometimes. These may be things you have brought on yourself one way or another or things done by someone else. There are times we are either given tasks or take them on that may seem like they are to great for us to handle. But yet these are only brief moments in our lives and when they pass we may be relieved it is over or glad for our accomplishment.
We often look towards others who are close to us for reassurance, and sometimes sympathy when we feel the road ahead is just to rough. We may want hem to tell us what to do or how to do it, so we will not blame only ourselves when we fail or things don't play out the way we wanted them to. We have all either told someone or have been told- I told you so- a time or two.
Life, as I am very sure you know, is all about choices. No matter how you decide to do whatever you choose in your life , for the most part, it is up to you. Your parents only play a short role. When you go to college it is up to you to go to class or stay out all night partying. When you get a job it is up to you to get out of bed on time and get to work, not your boss, roommate, spouse, etc. This principle applies to everything you choose to do in your life. When you decide to do anything you should give it your all- 100%. Doing something half-heartedly will make you look bad and in the end will not be good for your reputation or make you feel good about yourself.
If what you do does not work out despite your best effort, know you gave it your best shot and move on to the next thing. Don't keep beating your head against a brick wall just because you don't want o say you failed. Failure is not the end of the world it is just part of life. Failure does not mean you are a failure. There are many famous people who have had lots of failures before they finally had one success. You may think that you are at a disadvantage to others around you. Be it in whatever area you may think of. You do have the means to change your disadvantages and use your advantages to make what you want to happen, happen. There are many ways to get the support you need, but you have to take action and go get them.
There is no dream whether it is big or small that you can not achieve. There may be bumps in the road, dark days and times where things don;t go your way. You may have to rethink what you planned to do and take a different route to get there. But if you keep your feet on the ground and you head out of the clouds you will get there. Even if you are still just trying to make it through the day. You have whatever it takes to make it in whatever you choose to do. You just have to take action and do it.
Thank you for your motivating words. I like the idea that life is about choices. It reminds me of one of my favourite sayings: If it is to be it's up to me!
