How do you actively motivate yourself every day? Or do you simply go on with life without explicitly thinking about what you can do to actively change your attitude? My daily self motivation is very simple and I'd like to share what I do every day to motivate myself.
There are actually a few things that one can do daily, to lift your spirit up and get you motivated. Although, I have found that it also depends on what you’re motivating yourself for. For instance, I’d motivate myself to work hard at my day job in a certain way. This differs to how I motivate myself to do the dishes! So for me at least, I approach every motivational challenge differently. What I have noticed though, over the years, is that there is one major, key factor that plays such a vital role in motivation… and that is attitude!
The interesting thing also is that my attitude has slowly been shaped according to the motivational steps that I have implemented in my daily life! For me, this has such a huge potential and also goes to show the incredible power of the human mind. So essentially, I just have to control my attitude and perspective which then automatically motivates me!
Let me give you an example to illustrate this: I received a motivational email entitled “I can always wash my hands”. When I read it, I could fully understand what the theory was all about. It basically highlighted the fact that in many situations, one doesn’t feel like to doing something but then as motivation, you convince yourself that you can just wash your hands when you’re done! In most situations that is usually the case because you only don’t feel like doing it! There is nothing really stopping you from achieving it! It’s only the thought and attitude behind the action that leads to de-motivation… So, from then onwards (from getting the motivational email) I would explicitly think of that particular method. It worked!
Now that was a while ago – nowadays I don’t even have to think of it like that. The daily motivation that I have been practising has simply shaped my attitude over time. I am not saying that it is easy, but it’s definitely do-able! I am the type of person that only needs the theory to go according to. So if my motivational coaching gives me steps to follow [do this and then that and so on], I find it easy to follow through because I believe in what I am reaching for!
All that I am saying is that good daily self motivation leads to a positive shift and change in attitude, in many regards. These changes in attitude also inevitably affect other aspect in your life. Like my example of being able to wash my hands; it applies to many things, from taking out the rubbish to doing a driver’s license test (where you can easily just start again if you fail – no big deal)!
In many situations though, you might need some self confidence and daily motivational support. Some people can naturally motivate themselves but some may need the support offered by motivational services.
