One little spark of madness; that is all we are given in our life; one stroke of magic, one talent to be used to the best of its ability. God says to us upon our birth, “Don’t lose it!” Robin Williams acknowledged the fact that we are born with this special spark and it is what we do with it and how we use it that counts.
You, yes you, have a talent! You may be thinking, who me? Not me. That cannot be possible. I know me and I don’t have any spark of magic. You are totally wrong! Let me explain why this fact is true.
Life is what happens to each and every one of us. We come out of college or we get that first big job, then we get married, and then have the 2.0 kiddos. We start to experience life’s ups and downs. Birthdays, anniversaries, and graduations …. We continue to put our own goals and talents on the back burner because duty calls. We don’t have time for ourselves. Others are calling. There are medical bills to be paid; there is college tuition to be earned so we can send the kids to college. Month by month we just keep stuffing our own feelings down. In the back of our mind and in the deep recesses of our heart there is a gnawing. We know there is a dream to be fulfilled, a personal goal to be accomplished but we just keep ignoring it. We keep saying not now, not now, not now…..Later, maybe later.
I am here to kick you in the can! If not now when? Stop procrastinating. Today is your wakeup call… Hello, in there anyone home? You are not getting any younger… that small business you dreamed of opening, that art class you wanted to take, that book you keep saying you are going to write one day, that extra hundred pounds you keep wanting to take off. Whatever your spark of magic may be, whatever the talent the creator endowed you with at birth we are supposed to be out there using them. We are to be living in our purpose with passion. Frankly it is a travesty when we are not doing the things God called us to do. It is a waste of a precious thing called life. When we live outside our calling and gifting we are miserable. If you are reading this today and your life just hasn’t be quite right but you can’t put your finger on what the problem is I would be willing to go out on a limb and say you are living outside your magic zone.
You have got to start today to explore your magic zone, but how do I do that? The way I did it personally is I found out the things that gave me passion in my life. In my case I have a talent for cooking and it’s what I do. I also like helping people and help rectify wrong situations in people’s lives. I also like speaking and giving public talks. I started this blog to be able to speak to the public and also to help people fix the wrongs in their lives. I also have a passion to make more money so I have started some home businesses. Yes! Even in today’s economy, it really doesn’t take that much money to start a home business in your own home, contrary to what the naysayers might have to say about it. You just have to be willing to get out of that recliner and get back into your magic zone. Is it that easy? Yes it is that easy.
Sometimes I think we like to complicate the whole self-improvement industry too much. It is as simple as saying “Starting today I am going to do something new and different.” Out with the old and in with the new me, one that is living in his magical, passionate zone, one that honors you, and your creator. Today’s action assignment is to make a list of your talents, then decide what your magic zone is and then find ways to plug into those things that will light you up and fire up those passion engines. Good luck! Now go get it done. No more procrastination.
