For the bipolar sufferer who has had a manic or hypomanic episode, loss of orientation is an unwelcome guest. Treatment to help prevent the manic episodes from happening is one thing, but where do you find the solid ground to walk on when orientation has been lost?
Once the manic episode has moved on it can be very difficult to pick up where you left off, friends and family can be a major support and guidance to help you return to the middle ground after riding the manic rollercoaster. Yet these sources of support tend to cause a dependence that is according to a time frame that is not always convenient for all those involved. It is not necessarily convenience that is the issue; but “burdening” others with your disorder after the manic episode has occurred.
The manic episodes attributed to bipolar disorder have an after an effect that will help to create a state of need which in turn will induce a loss of confidence. The loss of confidence has 2 sources to feed off of; the fear of the next manic episode and the need for support or reliance on others to recover from a manic episode. This double whammy can lead to a thought process which takes you down the road to the dead end of depression; a merciless circle.
Self reliance and the determination to move forward have a healing effect that cannot be measured. After the manic episode and the hangover that leaves you with the feeling of helplessness; it would be an immense support to have a source that you can call yours, a source that you have created for your self, and a source to find stability because it is always waiting for you no matter if it is day or night.
If you are reading this then you are already familiar with the power of the internet and how you can turn to it when you are alone. You can find friends in forums or read about others who you can relate too as they share the after effects of their manic episodes.
There are many websites that offer a large array of self help such as forums, blogs, links; the list can be very long. Why not create a website of your own?
You can offer help to others by sharing your experience, you can create a website site that only you and others who understand your suffering can appreciate.
Your website can be a place after having lost ground due to a manic episode you can return to and it hasn’t changed. It is something that you can be proud of and find confidence in because it is yours for the whole world to see or you can create a membership website just for those who are important to you.
The choices are only limited by your will to find stability in what you your self can create.
