Sleep Deprivation: How To Prepare Children After Summer Break

And what is sleep deprivation? Sleep deprivation is a form of psychological torture inflicted by depriving the individual not to get enough sleep... or having insomnia ..which is bad for health. Insomnia is a special problem in the dark world of sleep deprivation. Okay! The summer is what every students been waiting for...for many months. This is a time of no teacher, no books and for many children, no schedule for assignment and projects It's fun and flexible and allows them for travel in different places and visitors, do summer activities and catching fireflies. However, after summer vacation... suddenly facing the first day of school without sufficient sleep can make the adjustment to a new teacher and a new classroom all the more difficult.

Sleep deprivation in children greatly affects their moods, cognitive, memory, decision making, creativity, everything a child needs for good academic performance. Don't wait until the night before school starts to get the children back into a school sleep schedule. Parents should start their child at least a week in advance with earlier bedtimes and earlier risings.

In a six to 12 years old, they will need between 10 1/2 and 11 1/2 hours of sleep at night. . Parents should get them into a good bed time routine, make them dinner, bath, reading, bed which they can follow for the full school year. It is very important for them to establish a regular bedtime routine for your child. Many parents find that post dinner bath, followed by reading and quiet time, is a good prelude to a restful good night sleep . Our internal clocks are powerful and we sleep best if we fall asleep and wake up at the same times daily. If children have a week or two of restful in advance of the start of their school. They'll be better able to handle any night before the first day jitters and will catch up on needed sleep quickly.

Children with enough of sleep will lead them to improved their memory function and alertness. This has obvious implications for learning and school success. In another study on children and sleep habits. It's a worth knowing that healthy sleep hygiene can promote a host of beneficial effects in children, and the children suffer health consequences just as like adults do when they suffer regular sleep deprivation. It's also significant to know that REM (rapid eye movement) sleep is important for learning, children who are lacking sufficient REM sleep will be at disadvantage in the classroom.

Here are some tips for sleepy children and parents,too...must follow:

* Don't allow them to drink beverages that contain caffeine, which can have a disastrous effect on children's ability to fall sleep. You must eliminate caffeinated beverages from your child's diet, start at least in the afternoon hours till time to go to bed.

* Don't let your child eat dinner late that too close to bedtime. A late evening meal can affect their ability to fall sleep.

* If your kids have an evening snack, let's make it a complex carbohydrates like a slice of toasted whole wheat bread with some peanut butter. Complex carbohydrates that can boosts serotonin levels in the brain which help them to relax and induce sleepiness. Bananas will help, too because of the trypthophan properties (seduced sleep) of this fruits like moringa oleifera "malunggay" with many health benefits, a huge help for children with sleep deprivation. And also help for study problem.
