Looking Towards a Happy and Prosperous Life
We all aim to be happy, but something always makes our path towards blissful living difficult. There is always something or the other missing for some people in their lives. Like for some there might be a lack of time to enjoy simple pleasures of life, for others it may be lack of money or any such difficulties.
It is quite easy that somebody fails to do what we expect from them to do and not fully live up to our expectations. It can be our boss, or wife/husband, our children, any relative, our friends, lots of people can disappoint us at any stage in life. When this happens, we are depressed and we are right to feel bad at that time. This is yet another obstacle in our path to happiness.
Happiness is not an easy choice, sometimes can be difficult as we have to work on it every day; a happy life comes after building a proper path to happiness, which means that we need to construct it every day little by little. Happiness is not something you can achieve in only one day.
Happiness is gained everyday by little things. I will list some of the tips that could be useful in order to achieve a happy life.
- Love yourself, and also respect yourself, if you don’t it’s difficult that someone else would. We are not aware of the fact that people like to be around others that have a real good impression of themselves, obviously we have to avoid to be seen as arrogant people, but people that respect themselves become more respected in society.
- Forgive others, doesn’t matter how big the issue is, once we forgive we put away our anger, disappointment and resentment, and if we aim to have a happy life we need this negative feeling away from us.
- Learn to be grateful, not only with others, also with your life in general, is important that you are everyday fully aware of the things you have, as said before the path to a happy life is not something to build in one day in order to have a happy life we will have to work on it every day.
- Remember to choose every day to be happy, although sounds obvious or silly, we need to remember that we decided to have a happy life, and it’s important we chose it and this will be the right attitude in order to follow our path to a happy life.
Keep in mind that a happy life is achievable if you are regular with the efforts, and to follow your own path to a happy life is the key to get there.
So true. We lose a lot with anger! Of course, our thoughts are very important too, because what we think, so shall we be. It's like a boomerang! I also started slowly, to teach my 2,5 year old son some basic lessons. He is still so young, but i sometimes talk with him like he is much older :) Thanks AJ for nice comment!
Thank you, Milos. Having 2 little ones myself, I find myself trying to teach these lessons to my children daily. We all need to remember that we have a choice on how we react to any situation. A change in perspective can make all the difference. My new favorite quote on happiness: For every minute you are angry you lose sixty seconds of happiness. -Ralph Waldo Emerson So, chose happiness!
It is true what you say Sarah. Life is made up of everyday small things, small pleasures of small victories that we win every day and they give us strength to go on. I heard somewhere, this wise thoughts and it's very true that "Yesterday is our history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift" We have to find every day in the first place pleasure of living and appreciate every good thing that happens to us today. Thank you for this nice and honest comment.
Being grateful isn't always easy. When I am sick, I have a hard time being grateful or happy. That's when I look into things that are going well in my life and being grateful for things like being married to my wonderful husband. If one leg hurts, I become grateful about my arms working or the other leg that works. I may be grateful I am not in a hospital. We can always find reasons to be grateful even when we are going through rough times.
