Alpinestars New Death Spray Designed Track Suit

This is a soon to be released product for the avant-guard sportbike rider with some dough. Alpinestars is a highly respected manufacturer of all types of protective motorsports racing clothing or gear. These leathers come to market as a one-piece motorcycle road racing suit. A sportbike rider would proudly wear this A-stars x death spray custom anatomy suit.

This suit is for the street rider who really wants to be the center of attention. We'll see if a sponsored pro racer will wear this example of anatomy art. The colors are bold. This is a fully perforated suit that can be worn all year long. It can be worn in colder weather with the proper wind breaker under suit.

I believe the suit to be mostly made of kangaroo leather. Kangaroo costs more than competition weight cowhide. It is much lighter. Many racers prefer the roo leather. Since the leather is thinner, it doesn't offer quite the cushioning effect during a crash and slide. Kangaroo is very strong though. It really resists tearing. I prefer the 1.5mm Japanese cowhide used by RS Taichi personally. Vanson leathers will last a lifetime.

This is a new type of graphic for Alpinestar. I have never seen anything like this. I'll keep an open mind and reserve judgement until later. This graphic may start a trend or a new fad. Who knows?

This bold anatomy graphic was designed by London-based Death Spray Custom. David Gwyther is the artist. DSC explores the intersections of culture, design and art and mixes these into a transportation motif. David's website has some interesting images. I recognized one right away.

Gwyther thinks outside the box as many artists do. Alpinestars was the ideal partner. The conflict of protection and the human body is never more apparent than in motorcycle racing. Alpinestars has the resources, guts and reputation to pull this off.

Alpine race suits are worn by both amateurs and professionals alike. A-stars designs and manufactures protective gear in all price points. The factory is in Italy. A high end track suit like this one may cost $3,000.00, maybe more.

Vanson leathers is another very prominent player in the protective gear industry. Vanson has had a "bones" design that depicts a skeleton on a heavy leather jacket. Palm and finger bones grace a pair of heavy leather gloves. The bones design is still in the vansonleathers catalog. I have seen one of these jackets in person. It is definitely a head turner. A skull motif can be found on more than a couple of manufacturer's motorcycle helmets.

The anatomy suit is constructed from different types of leathers. The designer uses the different textures that the various animal leathers possess. There is pig skin, kangaroo leather and cowhide. Pig skin is something new to me as far as an element of one-piece road race suit. Surely it must be an overlay over something stronger like the roo leather or thick cowhide.

Another striking design idea is the bright red mesh liner to further emphasize the anatomy theme. Race suits have a removable mesh liner to absorb perspiration. It gets very hot out on the track during the summer months. The liner can be washed and air dried when needed.

The Anatomy suit will be shown to the public this weekend at the “Wheels and Waves” event in Biarritz, France. I'm looking forward to seeing this design when it becomes available to the public. There should be full reviews on You Tube very soon. I must be way too conservative. I would never buy this creation.
