As you may know, the name Mark Wahlberg is a very big name today in the movie industry. He has acted in some great award wining movies such as Date Night, The Other Guys and Contraband which will be finalized sometime this year. Apart from acting, Mark Wahlberg is also a remarkable movie producer in Hollywood. Nevertheless, behind this big well renowned star, a true family guy exists with a hell of a past.

Presently Mark Wahlberg is married to Rhea Durham, an old classmate who he dated from the 90's. The couple has two beautiful girls (Ella Rae and Grace Margaret) along with some two handsome boys(Michael Robert and Brendan Joseph). Though he seems very successful, he didn't grow up having it all his way. As a matter of fact, it was far from that.

Mark Wahlberg grew up in Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. Their family life wasn't the easiest, considering the fact that he was the last born of 9 with his mother working as a bank clerk and his father as a delivery driver. His parents divorced in 1982 but he still grew up as a Roman Catholic, going to school like any other child, but that didn't last very long.

In the 90's Mark took up rapping as a career and built a certain amount of popularity. He more or less followed in his big brother Donnie Wahlberg's steps. However, Marky Mark didn't really stay in the industry for long.. He let go and lived on, making other great milestones in his life.

By the time he was 13, Mark had developed an addiction to cocaine and had been in trouble with the Boston police around 20-25 times! The things he did were just crazy! He was slowly absorbed into gangs and started drug dealing as well, which pretty much got him into some more trouble.When he was 17, he was arrested and charged with assault where he pleaded guilty and was put behind bars for some 2 years.

When in prison, he fully changed his ways and turned back to God. He noticed living that life wasn't what he really wanted. This action changed everything, he was now no longer part of the gangs and all, which made him an enemy.

After being released, he started a new life, by moving away from the 'hood' to California. As a new man, his career as an actor started in almost no time. His first movie The Substitute made him famous enough to begin the career.

Apart from acting Mark Wahlberg is working on some foundations aimed at keeping kids from dropping out from school. He said on an interview on CNN, "people think they can really go far with dropping out, but they can't. Education is key. Chances of you being as lucky as I was are almost nil."

Nevertheless, Mark Wahlberg is still a family man. He goes to church every single day before he heads home to his amazing family. There are hardly any stars like Mark Wahlberg presently in hollywood. Indeed, he is a one in a million!
