AMC's television series, Breaking Bad, is by far one of the best things that has ever happened on television. Vince Gilligan - Creator / Executive Producer / Writer / Director of the show brought to us a fine work of art, one that is definitely worth watching over and over again. You have probably heard about the "blue meth", names like Heisenberg, or phrases like "Better Call Saul". Here is a quick review of the show and what it is about to satisfy some of your curiosity if you haven't already jumped in on the bandwagon and with all the hype and breaking bad reviews out there.

The Plot

In this dark comedy of some sort, Walter White; a struggling high school chemistry teacher and family man in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is diagnosed with an inoperable type of lung cancer. With the aid of his former student, Jesse Pinkman who is a drug user and pusher, Mr White opted to producing and selling methamphetamine, in order to secure his family's financial future before he dies. This is Breaking Bad. It is all about Walter White's journey to the wide, unknown, and complex world of illegal drugs and his transformation. His decisions and choices as the show progress, and the effects of it all on himself, and everyone that surrounds him, becomes more and more apparent as the show progress. It is stressful. It is fun. It is sad, and it sure is very complicated. Almost every episode will leave you out of breath or just mouth wide open.

The Characters

What sets this show apart from the rest of the television shows out there to date, is the character development. You will have a favorite. You will have someone you hate. You'll find someone you can't really pin if you'd hate them or feel for them. Let me just say that the character selection in this television series have been phenomenal to say the least. They can easily make you laugh and cry and be at the edge of your seat with such gripping performances. I do not want to give away too much and spoil the glory of this show, for one of its awesome qualities lie in the performances of the characters with their respective roles. From the drug addicts to the lawyers, between the drug cartel and the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), all these groups would have an individual that you can either take away from or relate to.

The Verdict

If you still don't sense what the verdict is for this show from what you have read above, let me say that Breaking Bad is definitely a must-see. The writing is exceptional and the performances of the actors are nothing short of exceptional. Breaking Bad and everyone from it's creators, producers, to actors , have been nominated and have won countless awards.

But don't take my word for it. You have got to see the show for yourself and see why Breaking Bad deserves all the hype that it has gathered. Sadly, the show has come to an end. It was short but definitely sweet. If it was food, it definitely is finger and plate-licking good. But you can still avail of the digital copy for your collection which has been rumored to have an alternate ending. That's definitely a must have.

Breaking bad really is a great show and I think it has influenced my life more than just it was there for my viewing pleasure. It's an inspiring show as well as entertaining. Please don't miss it.
