Charlie Sheen's former wife, Brooke Mueller was arrested in Aspen, Colorado after what was described as a minor altercation on the dance floor of a popular nightspot in the city. Mueller and a group of friends were seen partying at Belly Up when she allegedly punched a woman on the dance floor. That woman spoke to Aspen Police about the incident and Mueller was questioned but not arrested at that time. Police did arrest Mueller later that night, at a second club called Escobar. Her and her group had been at that second club for roughly half an hour or so when police arrived to escort her outside and cuff her. After she was in custody, police found more than four grams of cocaine in her possession.
Prosecuting Attorney Arnold Mordkin will seek two charges on Mueller at her December 19 hearing in District Court. Those charges are cocaine possession with an intent to distribute, designated as a Class 4 felony and a charge of third degree assault.
The intent to distribute charge may stem from the way the cocaine was packaged or from statements made by Mueller. Neither the police or the prosecutors would comment further on the case because it is still pending.
A witness outside of Escobar said that when she was arrested, Mueller appeared to be impaired and shouting for people to call her attorney, the LAPD and others. She also told witnesses "I run this town." After being booked into the Pitkin County jail, she posted bond of $11,000 and was released.
Mueller and actor, Charlie Sheen were married in May of 2008 and have twin sons, Bob and Max. In 2009, Mueller called the Aspen Police Department after Sheen assaulted her and allegedly threatened to kill her. He plead guilty to that assault in August of the following year and was sentenced to thirty days in a rehab center. The pair tried to reconcile but filed for divorce. That divorce was finalized in February of this year.
Mueller has been in and out of drug and alcohol treatment facilities in the past few years and has battled Sheen for custody of their children. Both have pointed fingers at one another but while Sheen might be back on track with a new show in the works and laughing at his own past antics, Mueller continues to exhibit troubling behavior. In April her parents offered to take the twins in to their home, as did another of Sheen's ex-wives, Denise Richards.
